Because under socialism, at least we were trying to overcome problems that weren’t know to the capitalist societies. Under capitalism, we can only cope, because the system is designed around it’s crippling problems and if they were eliminated, there would no longer be capitalism.

Scalpers are losing thier mind because the drop rates of rare cards are higher in the new sets and they made ALOT of sets.
So a lot of the scalpers are like “how could they do this to us! This is my livelihood “ and all the people who enjoy the game are like “well this is fucking amazing!”

I reported as many as I could under “suspected as fraudulent.” Nowhere can I find an option that says “Presale” is not allowed. I’m not that surprised since this is eBay.
It’s because presale isn’t actually against their policy. What is against their policy is someone putting an inventory up that they haven’t confirmed they are going to have.

Being said, I think valve should crack down on the resale of their product on platforms like ebay, if they can find a listing that links to a steam account terminate future sales. With how overarching their system is they could likely cite Policy violation and close the entire account as well.
I assume it would be fairly easy to look for identical card numbers across the platform, or require the primary account on the device to be the account that purchased it for at least X amount of days having the system like how phone carriers do with carrier locking.
Price it at whatever you like, scalpers, I will not buy it

I would say that those that buy is just as big of a problem as the scalpers. If people would just stop buying… Sad scalper.
The scalpers are just filling a market demand. Even without the scalpers you wouldn’t be able to get the steam frame yet

The market demand they are filling is cutting in line. Every time a scalper buys an item, a legitimate customer doesn’t get it. So genuinely SOMEONE is not getting a steam frame because of a scalper. That’s how it works. The steam frames being sold on ebay aren’t just magically generated by scalpers, they are the result of someone else getting pushed out of line.
Supply isn’t increasing because of them.
But without the scalpers the market demand would be met to saturation by the original supplier. As it is some people are paying more for this thing because people who didn’t want to use it bought it.
They’re not fulfilling a market demand, Valve intentionally underproduced Steam Frames to create temporary artificial scarcity (hype) and the scalpers are taking advantage of that. Supply & demand aren’t natural laws because humans control production levels. Scalpers are lowkey encouraged by Valve because they increase the perception of value/scarcity
This is some weird logic. How as a business could you know exactly how many of an item you need to produce and have in stock less than a week before you take orders? What happens to a business that produces lets say 1 million units but then when orders start they only sell 10k? The only way to solve this with your way of thinking is to do some kind of Kickstarter/early order before production.
These are some high level conspiracy theories if you seriously think this is how it works.

In the US we need modifications to the first sale doctrine. I don’t think it should be done away with all-together but, It should be forced like you said to be MSRP as the ceiling. They also need to codify that licenses to use and digital goods apply to the doctrine meaning that any digital good must have a capability to resell/transfer rights of. Because with everything becoming digital only, its making the entire doctrine useless.

They don’t… If they do, they had many multiple accounts with multiple addresses and payment methods, have actual play time on actual paid (not F2P) games and made a Steam purchase before 2026/04/26. They could be sitting on their accounts for a long while to be ready for this. Don’t buy scalper stuff. Only purchase from Valve. Be patient. Used market an old headset if you’re new to VR, they’re cheap and work today.
Ways to buy in bulk aside, there will be people who just buy their one allowed Frame only to scalp it, just like people did with Steam Decks. Most scalpers are not big operations, just people who bought one in order to resell.

Fun “I Have No Mouth…” story. Daughter wanted to see the Digital Circus movie in theaters, which would include us going with and taking her. So she wanted us to watch the series too, otherwise we’d be watching the movie without the context. And I agreed, ticket purchases and watching, contingent that she get the context that’s based on by reading Harlan Ellison first. Can’t say she enjoyed it as much as wacky lolsorandom show… but I tried.
The fucking what movie? Why are stupid webseries turning into movies? Like the fucking skibidi toilet movie. You know, they turned Minecraft into a movie once. Only exists because it’s Minecraft.

I’ll say that the Digital Circus wasn’t really my kind of show…
BUT, I do support indie creators, small studios reaching audiences and breaking barriers that previously only major studios could achieve. There’s something very cool about a person going from making a youtube webseries to getting to nationwide theater screenings.
And, love/hate it, that’s kind of what Digital Circus did… it didn’t need major studios thumb of approval to be funded and distributed. It funded itself and got connected directly to theaters without dealing with hollywood/studio/corpo gatekeeping money leeching focus groups… just a creator making a space for a shared fan/community experience. And that’s pretty cool.

I wanna buy a home server so i sometimes check eBay and FUCKK SCALPERS they buy every computer, remove RAM and SSD ans then sell it again without them at the same price so i cannot afford anything anymore because i have to buy overpriced RAM, overpriced SSDs and over priced computers 🥹
Yeah this makes my blood boil. It’s been happening for yearrss, long before the AIpocalypse. So many used/decommissioned computers on eBay that don’t even have RAM. As for storage, there is somewhat of a “data sanitization” angle there, but seeing as how people put used disks up anyways, there is kind of no excuse to not leave them in after sanitizing them.

I recently got lucky and managed to pick up a Cafelat Robot (really hard to get manual espresso maker). It completely sold out in minutes. I paid $495 CAD. I then saw a local listing a few days later, someone was selling one BNIB for $950. It sold in a couple hours. I was so mad when I saw it sold.
