[off topic] When the Bible says ‘don’t take the Lord’s name in vain’ it doesn’t mean that you are damned for cursing. It means that you shouldn’t lie under oath.
“In vain” itself is a weird expression, meaning mostly “to no effect” [0]. So dont invoke God’s judgement unless you’re 100% sure, but its not really clear whether he’ll damn you if you’re not.
Doesn’t it mean that you are forbidden from saying God’s name for no reason? (YWH)
Is ‘damn’ a swear word or is it just the child being cute?
Some people consider it to be a lighter swear word. Hence the mother not being upset about it.
Some older people consider it to be.
