So there are two sides. Everyone in the world falls into one these sides. And all of one side got together and came up with a new set of words. These words they demand everyone use and each has built into them explanations that men are bad.
Can you point to evidence that supports this theory? If it was half of the people I assume there are some large communities these words are heard often but I’ve never heard them.
Why do you think there are two sides and one of them is blaming men?
People seek confirmation that their negative traits are positive ones. Why put in effort to win, when you can just get an echo chamber to explain to you that you already won because of XYZ reason.
This isn’t limited to the manosphere stuff but it certainly is a big part of it. Any group that uses that other people are full of shit though as evidence that they are the good guys is also trying to pull the same trick.
There is value in feminisim because women’s rights are “new” and that is to say that there are people alive who grew up in a time where women’s rights were considered a joke. Women received the ability to have their own bank account without a man co signing in 1974. That means MOST Gen X people, when they were born, their mothers were not legally allowed to have a bank account. That isn’t ancient history like some folks like to act it is.

They will make a really good series that well serves a niche DC property and then end season 2 on a cliffhanger and cancel it.

I did some Linux gaming during COVID and recently swapped my HTPC to Linux (Bazzite/Deck) for a console style setup in the living room. Massively improved now over my previous experience.
The game I was playing heavily this last weekend (Wildmender) absolutely runs better in Proton on Linux than it did on Windows. Less crashes, less stutters, faster load time. I assume it is due to preRendered shaders? Honestly not really sure but it is nice.
Going to do some Enshrouded on it next which is a game absolutely not at all optimized for Linux, so far it seems to be working fine but I’ve not gotten to that late game CPU intensity of loading areas heavily modified.

If they have an expedition then play that mode. I really do not understand why they do not keep an Expedition or two running at all times. They add exactly the amount of depth folks find missing and normally I can run one and then I still play and have fun for another 20 hours before the game gets repetitive and I quit for a bit again.
You think the wait staff setup the machine to do math wrong?

Switch 2 to me is something I’m okay with from the perspective of, I think these consoles need to update more often. Nintendo didn’t have anything revolutionary to add this time around, but wanted to update the Switch because it had been 8 years. It’s nearly 100% backwards compatible. This is a better choice than the WiiU which basically was Wii without the fun.
I’m curious what Sony and Microsoft do because there isn’t any new improved tech for those devices that would really drive a better experience for people. Microsoft seems to be toying with the Xbox isn’t a single device it’s an experience concept. Sony made the Pro and no one cared.
I get it, but we should as a community try to be better than that.
AI won’t fail. It already is past the point where failing or being a fad was an option. Even if we wanted to go backwards, the steps that were taken to get us to where we are with AI have burned the bridges. We won’t get 2014 quality search engines back. We can’t unshitify the internet.
That AI is the one you make or at least host. No one is going to host an online AI for you that is 100% ethical because that isnt profitable and it is very expensive.
When you vilianize AI you normalize AI use as being bad. The end result is not people stopping use of AI it is people being more okay with using less ethical AI. You can see this with folks driving SUVs and big trucks. They intentionally pick awful choices because the fatigue of being wrong for driving a car makes them just accept that it doesn’t matter.
It feels dumb, it is dumb, but is what happens.
Nestle bottling water is bad, so my solution will be to never drink any water and make fun of people who do. This is how it always comes off to me.
Who in the world eats hard shell tacos?

Yea but if someone uses those bindings then you can’t just not support it.
By the time this code gets into a large scale production system it will be 2029. That is when the bugs will come in if someone leveraged the Rust bindings.
You can ask the big company users at that time to contribute their fixes upstream, but if they get resistance because they have relatively junior Rust devs trying to push up changes that only a handful of maintainers understand, the company will just stop upstreaming their changes.
The primary concern that a major open source project like this will have is that the major contributors will decide that interacting with it is more trouble than it is worth. That is how open source projects move to being passion projects and then die when the passion dies.

Yea and if the Rust developers don’t show up to the show? Rust is a baby and it has done so little on its own. This isn’t a neat little side project, this is code that a major vendor will want to take up and will demand be maintained. There are implications on a global scale.

It’s mostly in that linked thread. The high level of it is a guy wanted to push Rust code. The maintainer said no it would mean the API for this would be tied to Rust and that is unacceptable. It cause another big contributer to throw a fit and Linus said he can’t be everyone’s mom. They kept fighting for like 2 months apparently? Now Linus stepped in, looked at the code and said the Rust code clearly doesn’t impact the API in the way the maintainer was saying it just breaks itself if the maintainers allow changes to the API.
I kinda dislike the idea that it’s cool for people to contribute code that is so easy to break. I have a feeling after it happens a few times they are going to claim that it is being done intentionally and that the slap fights will carry on.
In an American vacuum I could see where you are coming from. In comparison with literally the entire rest of the world, it is clearly a flawed standpoint.
The American Democratic party is the oldest standing political party in the entire world. It last changed it’s political stances in the 1960’s and not because they wanted to, but because they needed to respond to the Republicans flipping the entire south in their favor.
Other countries have real leftist parties that actually get government members elected.
Biden was incapable of clearly communicating verbally for 2 hours straight in a debate. I’d argue that Biden stayed in as long as he did to enable them to feel empowered to force another Kamala on us rather than having to deal with a Warren, Sanders or even a Buttigieg winning the Primary. Kamala was 6th in line in the Primary when she dropped out in 2020.
I vote for them, they move right. I don’t vote for them, and vote third party, they move right. I join their party and vote in their primary’s for progressive candidates, they move right.
It’s almost like a bunch of really old, well off, lifetime establishment government folks just actually want to be conservative authoritarians. At BEST they are stuck in a mindset of 1969’s ideas of what progressive politics are because that is when they became politicians.
Looking at it just purely because of the console capabilities itself, the Wii was the best console.
Most of what the Wii did, no other system console or PC replicates well even to this day. They did this while undercutting other consoles on price, still putting out solid entries to their core IPs, and broadening gaming to new gamers.
All of the other consoles I would want to put at number 1 really are only great because of the library of games they had. Most of those libraries would have been better off if they were not forced to be on proprietary hardware.
