You are a fair bitch. People working the carnival / fair scene don’t have the best of reputation. In Belgium we had a song about this phenomenon and the real fair people were all kinds of angry about the stereotype. The thing is about stereotypes: it really has a base in reality.
No matter how much you invest you’re time and effort for your job: You are expendable, and the only people who will know you were absent from home because of work 20 years later, will be your kids.
My main OS since Linux Mint 17.3, and still very happy with it. Switched from MacOS after a 10 year Apple stint and haven’t regretted it for even a second. My hardware needs were much cheaper if anything.
And the kicker: the config files show 99% were extracted from Debian Linux. Own Chinese distro, my ass.
You can have a good laptop or a cheap one, not both.
