It should not be tolerated at the workplace. I’m forced to listen to this rhetoric because my shift isn’t done yet, and I can’t leave without getting fired. I’m forced into a sexual discussion without consent, and it’s so graphically disgusting that I feel nauseous.
I mean, so is death, but the corpo workplace convention is that I should temper it with phrases such as “passed away” and “is no longer with us.”

I actually hate those euphemisms and tend to say “I was so sorry to hear your x died, are you doing ok?” Things like that. Just always feel like it would be so annoying to have all that “sorry for your loss” it’s so sterile.
Indeed. I don’t believe we should brush the experiences of life under a rug. These are some of the most common shared human experiences. I think the world would be a better place if we talked about them more openly.
