it’s been awhile since i dove into Linux, but last time i dabbled i was liking Kubuntu.

everyone knows, there’s a certain amount of fucking around you get for free. the real problem is that the finding out part can happen quick, and seem to come out of nowhere.

they’re commonly known as busy bowls.

we had to get one for a young dog we took in. he was used to food being scarce, and would gulp down any given to him. the busy bowls make them work for it, so it slows them down a bit.

it is true that the founding fathers could not have foreseen the invention of more modern firearms, let alone the idea of semi and fully automatic firearms. but they did clearly envision that a armed populace was a good thing. they also fairly clearly envisioned it as a equally armed type of thing. what was modern then would be considered antique and primitive just a short century later. but the spirit of the amendment still comes through fairly clearly.

in the case of modern society, fully automatic weapons are heavily regulated and are not, in general, in the hands of the populace. true some can be modified, but to be caught with such a weapon, is going to bar you from legally having any sort of firearm, as it’s a felony.

learn HOW to drink.

drinking isn’t just about finding out how much it takes before you black out. AND FOR EVERYONE ELSE’S SAKE, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. if you’re gonna drink, arrange transportation, or stay where you are.

nothing really matters, that’s what gives our presence meaning. there is no grand score keeping, which makes things like kindness all the more meaningful.

when nothing matters, how we live and express ourselves becomes even more meaningful.

the entire existence of all living things is the struggle. some thrive, some don’t.

but we do it all for the good days. if it was all good days, we wouldn’t appreciate them like we do. the darkness gives meaning to the light, and the bad days give meaning to the good ones.

i’m sorry about your cat. it can be rough to lose a loved one. but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more good days.

i’m 40 years old, and i’ve been working since i was 17.

i have never had any sort of job that paid any sort of benefits. i simply get paid the money i earn from the jobs i do, and that’s it. i’ve never had any sort of insurance, etc. it’s kind of ridiculous. most of my jobs are contract positions. i can’t even remember the last time i worked for any sort of hourly wage.

a friendly reminder for those who need it

for those curious, it would be something along the lines of a AthlonXP and a Geforce 6000 series. there were Win98 drivers for that stuff.

i’d look for a small folio type case. something durable, maybe leather-ish.

when i was about 10 or so we moved to a new neighborhood. obviously that meant exploring the new area, and making new friends. the first people i met in that area lived down the road from me. two of my new friends were brothers, one a bit older than the other, both several years older than me. they had a neighbor, who was my age, and we attended 3rd grade together.

the older brother was a bit wiser and kinder, the younger brother could be a bit bullheaded at times. when i was about 15, i left to live with my dad. those 5 or so years seemed so incredibly formative on my upbringing, for good or bad. around that time the younger brother died in a car wreck, and i really hadn’t spent much time with them since i moved away.

to this day, i remember something the older brother taught me, which was to try to learn something new everyday. you won’t always succeed, but it’s still important to try.

i’m 40. the amount of time i lived there was really only about 1/8th of my life. but i still try to learn something new everyday.

i think that’s a smart move on their part.

the CP2077 launch was rocky, but most of their previous games haven’t had that level of hype. The Witcher 3 taking off like it did, gave them the confidence to go bigger. CP2077 is in a great place now, even if it didn’t start that way.

really? i’ve been using SXM for over a decade. i’ve never seen a company that is so desperate to keep their customers. they’ll do pretty much anything you ask of them.

tired of paying the bill? then don’t. they’ll cut it off after a few months. then they’ll call and be willing to forgive the past bill, cut you back on, and you probably won’t even have to pay it for another month or two.

whenever whatever deal i’m on expires, i simply call them up and tell them i’m thinking about cancelling. they’ll usually offer something like service for $5 a month, if i’ll pay for 6 months at a time or something.

i’ve never had even a hint of trouble with them in the last decade.

beer goes in, piss comes out. you can’t explain that.

It doesn’t sound like a you problem. Sounds like a problem with him. As such the agency to fix the problem lies with him.

Move on and forget about him.

That same line of thinking got him in the first time.
