Two Norwegians are actually like 14 different languages. I had a girlfriend from Trondheim, i had learned “nynorsk” while living in Sognogfjordane and had a much easier time understanding people in Aarhus where we lived vs her dialect.

4·2 months agoSame here. Sonic fiber and I’ve had 0 issues. Pay less now than I did for much much slower cable internet before and I think we’ve had 1 maintenance and 1 outage in the last 4 years. Just checked speed test on my modem and it 941 down 942 up.

99 in Berkeley right now. My house was built in like 1928 and since we rent obviously there’s been no energy efficient updating of insulation or anything like that since maybe the 60s. It’s like 94 inside right now. Sitting in front of multiple fans just blowing hot air at me this is the life y’all.

8·5 months agoI still play civ v with a few friends pretty much weekly. A couple times a year one of our wives and kids go out of town and we lan party from 4pm to 6am and actually finish a game!

I understand that but none of the replacements came close to matching the level of content and quality, risa used to always be popping in recent and I’ve not found any of the replacements (I subscribed to them all) to be anywhere near that. Not saying the action wasn’t warranted (it probably was) but still sad.
I don’t really know what drama caused it but when he stopped posting on c/risa@startrek.website it was a sad sad day.
I have 3 friends that I play Civ V with weekly, in person LAN parties maybe once or twice a year. Civ 6 never caught on and I’m the youngest in the group (at 39) so I just went with it. But going by the principle that odd number Civs are good we are excited for 2025.
Can you explain more? Don’t leave me hanging…

It is wind chill not actual temperature. Still cold cold cold but not as bad as it sounds in terms of your internal organs freezing or whatever.
