Oh, not being on FB for over a decade probably doesn’t help either, but I’m OK with that lol

32·4 days agoHard to say, but at least by next quarter they’ll turn a bigger profit, and that’s all that matters is the shortsightedness of next quarter’s gains.
But why Glock?
I think people are still too unaware. As businesses push to use it, people are afraid to speak up about not using it bc "everyone is using it"and they don’t want to be left out.
Most still don’t understand its environmental impact either. If you’re a muscle car guy, you probably don’t understand ballet, or if you’re an artsy person you likely won’t understand most sports and why people are so into them. It’s not that people are dumb, is just not their area of interest outside of (likely) misinformation about how good it is. So because they’re repeatedly told “it’s good and helpful” they just assume that’s how it is, without any real info of behind the scenes.
On most forums or like-minded sites like Lemmy, Reddit, or other similar platforms, it’s way more obvious as is constantly brought up and talked about.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If internet means wires, then how come my mobile phone gets connected to the internet ? I'm roaming everywhere with it inside my pocket.
105·8 days agoWow, OP posts to “no stupid questions” but still gets ripped…
This is turning into Reddit Jr with all the hive-minded people that don’t like to be helpful, just talk about how they’re right. God forbid anyone have a real curiosity or question.
OP I upvoted all your comments to give some karma back…

41·11 days agoI might get hate, but who cares. I’ve recently discovered the Forward Party, and while no party is perfect, I feel they have the most logical approach.
They have an ethics statement, values section… I mean, who cares “how” you lean, because it seems like they’re just trying to help clean up the trash in politics now.
To get to the center of that Tootsie Pop, of course!
Yeah I never understood that one myself
English can certainly be difficult! It can understood through tough thorough thought though throughout the learning process.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why have we as a society just accepted the increasingly blinding bright lights of cars?
2·16 days agoHell I’d take Xenon lights over LED. Xenon have a more defined line at the edge of the beam whereas LED is more dispersed or scattered, so it’s more blinding.
Wouldn’t be so bad but some idiots can’t figure out how to aim their newly lifted truck’s lights downward and instead install a bunch of LED light bars to light up half the neighborhood!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why have we as a society just accepted the increasingly blinding bright lights of cars?
1·16 days agoThis probably sounds stupid, but I have a simple solution.
Headlights are aimed straight out in front of the driver-which unfortunately is also the oncoming driver’s line of sight. Why not cross their aim of lights so driver aims towards passenger and vice versa.
This takes the drivers light which is directly blinding and aims away, then the passenger light is also slightly aimed more away. Still illuminates the whole front of the road and car, maybe better peripheral even. The only negative is right as they pass each other, the passenger light his the oncoming car, BUT should be way shorter exposure and more indirect so less blinding…
Idk, just my $.02

1·19 days agoNot everyone wants to live in a densely populated area though, so not just cities. Many are stuck distance traveling for jobs that could be done remotely, too, with no real means of public transportation. Sure, it exists, but too many variables for too many people so its not convenient.
So many city-based people don’t understand how the rest of the country functions… Very close/narrow-minded to just assume everyone else should be able to adjust/adapt their lives to what works for them.
