thx! definitely going into my list:)

it’s fine i get it. but do you consider that a good/better experience than kb&m? that’s my it’s not built to work well without pointer…

Thanks for the thought process it’s really helpful and also reassuring since it’s quite similar to mine and yeah. Secureblue definitely sounds cool but I’m afraid it would not fit my dad’s need. In the end it’s gonna be up to whether I and my father can trust the maintainers or not

this is the first time knowing the Qubes OS. and upon researching on wikipedia, it’s meant to be used with multiple OSes for different tasks…? wow

First time hearing about Secureblue. And it sounds great. Though their motivation is quite welcome to see, I’m unsure if it will be actively maintained for a long time. It’s quite young project.
Off topic but I kinda want to know for future reference how you would
Back up everything, like taking an image of them at that point, including all apps, all files, all settings, every little thing, and then using that to restore them at a later date if needed?
On Android. I have tried so many things but found none.
Yup. At this point, I’d just want to run Linux like normal on modern MacBook. Man my m1 MacBook Air is still a beast and with all good hardware.
Yup, yup and yuuup. I can vouch this:
Feels really good, and in a different way than many fromsoft titles
Awesome to hear the dlc is good! I’m liking Lies of p more than I originally thought. So I might buy it too:)

Same lol. Can’t be that catastrophic. Right? …. Right?

Agreed. Do I expect my mom to manually plug in the usb flash? She ain’t have slightest idea of what a file is. Same goes for Nextcloud everything and Syncthing. Setup and done is Immich. The lead dev of Immich explicitly mention his motivation was to make it easy to backup and share pics with his wife and child.

Thank you! Great info. After some reading, I went with Rescuezilla which is yet another GUI for Clonezilla. I might give the foxclone next time!

Thanks guys. I went with Rescuezilla in the end. So far so good.

Thank you for the insight. Changes are incremental I suppose. You are correct that it’s more efficient. But I kind of want to back up the whole disk since I can keep a bootable drive with it right?

First time hearing of this. Any particular reasons?

I’m on a similar boat except I might have less time resource available in the future cause I’m getting a job.
Hopefully I could automate full disk backup because if something like Immich breaks, I can just load up from the backup drive. My family also use the services so… I think it’s great you brought up RAID but I believe when Immich or any software mess things up it’s not recoverable right?

This is something I should consider!

I see. This is more of a file system backup right? Do you recommend it over full disk backup for any reason? I can think of saving space.
hey thanks. I flashed openwrt since day-1. so I cannot comment on that. (And I personally bought this router specifically because people mention good thing about openwrt supports it)
I will be doing as you say just to check out but after every bit of resolution i could think of.
