Ah, you’re right. I was doubting myself but still posted. Apparently doubting for good reason.
Reddit -> Beehaw until I decided I didn’t like older versions of Lemmy (though it seems most things I didn’t like are better now) -> kbin.social (died) -> kbin.run (died) -> fedia.

“I need to buy a piano who’s a good maker?”
“Kawasaki”
“I also need to buy a motorcycle”
“You’re not going to believe this, but…”
~ cribbed from somewhere on the internets (and probably retold somewhat incorrectly)
Unfortunately, it’s complicated. There are in-country tax considerations for the overseas entity and, as Americans are often shocked to find when moving here, something like an LLC is going to cause a huge tax headache with taxes
It depends. Some people grew up tossing them and old habits die hard. That was less of an issue when it was some paper and leaf, but definitely more of an issue today with filters and such. In places where there’s more enforcement, people tend to carry pocket ashtrays and actually clean up after themselves. Improving enforcement and education would probably help reduce littering.
Thank you! I’ll give it a shot
Great, now I want skyline and I don’t have the spice mix. I really need to look up w copycat recipe and make some. Sure as hell not going to the US for it.
You still have your nightly walkthrough, nightly email, and a bunch of stickers to look forward to.
It’s not my favorite day of the month and I suppose we could just stick a small month at the end of the year
Our on-call software apparently causes iphones to play the same sound as an earthquake alert here in Japan. Coworkers have had some literal ptsd-like experi nces and gotten shocked reactions when it goes off in public (at least by default, the sound is on).
On Android I just get some piddly ‘ding’ I have to set to retrigger as it won’t even wake me up.
edited with response. Thanks!
I am a guy from the US living in Japan for a decade.
There definitely is/was a Polish instance.
It’s not super popular except in like one particular region. It was just the only thing the bar I was at was making a couple of times (they kinda rotated dishes) so I gave it a try.
Have eaten in Japan and never gotten sick that I can recall. Definitely not my favorite; the texture isn’t great IMO.

No, but they do believe in clerical errors
Yeah, the landscape has changed a lot. People can also share on other platforms, sometimes live, showing their trolling. Poe’s law is also a thing. I first got online in the BBS days and have been around basically every since. I quit mainstream SNS years ago, but it even finds its way here.
I think it’s more like a political Ouija board where people are influencing the plectrum to get it where they think it should be.
Some people really hate the smell of any seafood being heated up. I live in Japan and, when I worked in a small office, it was entertaining to see how coworkers from various countries coexisted. Several hated seafood or even things smelling too oceany or the like. They were largely outnumbered and often left at lunch. Even dried fish being eaten could set them off just from the package being opened.
Yep. And in some places, one can see the enforcement is against minoritites and other scape goats at a disproportionate level. This also has the “bonus” of being able to make one group look like they break the law much more often and are dangerous
