I believe they did that for quite a few shows too.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can pets tell who's petting them without looking?
3·4 months agoI would imagine so - smell alone probably gives them a pretty accurate idea, but people also pet differently (probably not as uniquely as a fingerprint but differently enough)
Some people are heavy petters some light, some only pet in one direction, some only pet certain areas (head only, flank only, etc.) And so on.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The shop app says my package will arrive tomorrow but it hasn't even moved from its start point in Hong Kong yetEnglish
5·5 months agoLooks like you’re using ups. Try a 3rd party tracker. (Sorry i can’t remember the name of one - its been years since I had something shipped from out of country.)
I’ve had success in the past tracking that way.

2·5 months agoAt least with a brick and mortar store you actually know what you’re getting*
*to a degree. You still won’t know how well it will actually hold up in the real world - but you can at least get an idea of it’s construction (Materials/stitching and so on) that you don’t/can’t get via an online shop (especially with all the bogus reviews nowadays)

12·5 months ago"The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet."

If they’re suffering let it end - if they can still maintain a good quality of life let them live… I’m also for human euthanasia.
No matter the amount of love - if the pain is unmanageable or their quality of life is shit let them go.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Lemmy users who say that Lemmy users are smarter than Reddit users
173·5 months agoIts kind of already happening here - just for different reasons.
There is very little engagement on Lemmy besides in a few communities. What little engagement there is - is driven by a few users.
Even broad conversion topics get very little engagement.
I get not everyone wants to be a topic “starter” (i know I don’t), but they can’t even bother to either:
1: just post a tiny comment (look at “what are you watching” in the movies / TV subs on piefed.Social; seems like a real easy topic for anyone to engage in and yet there’s only ever like 10 posts and zero upvotes)
2: upvote topics or posts; While the points don’t matter - they still show and promote engagement.
Its honestly rather frustrating.
In single-player games I occasionally “lightly” cheat.
Using “infinite” mods or unlock “everything” mods just ruins all the fun for me.
But unlock a specific thing or get a small amount of rss type cheats that reduce grind I like.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you use a dishwasher or wash dishes by hand?
5·6 months agoBoth.
I tend to wash the larger stuff by hand so it’s not wasting so much space in the dishwasher.
Lol. So full of yourself. No one is trying to bring “seniority” into this.
Saying you sound like a teenager who just discovered drugs is not the same as saying you are a teenager* (*so shut up - the adults are talking?)
No you really didn’t “try to hint at it”.
Honestly you sound like a teenager who just discovered drugs and really enjoys them so you went down the research rabbit hole.
And there’s nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but everything you said sounds like it’s coming from an arrogant/privileged place.
Ive been lucky enough to never have a bad trip. Im unlucky in that I’ve only been able to trip a handful of times.

2·6 months agoYes it’s better in a group. Or at the very least just playing on a multiplayer server is better imo than single player. (At least until npcs are in)

Through “no fault” of the company and years after the purchase.
Its not the companies fault he couldnt be assed to :
- Diversify his email addresses in the 1st place
- Update his email address.
When you put all your eggs in one basket, you’ve really got no one else to blame when you then decide to throw the basket away.
When idiots ride my ass I slow down.
Im driving the speed limit in the right hand lane and you ride my ass - I let off the gas to the minimum speed (here its usually 45mph)
Im actively passing in the left lane and you ride my ass I let off the gas.
When the idots back off I speed back up. If they start riding me again I slow back down. After a few times of this they usually pull their heads out of their asses and back off/ properly change lanes.
The problem with that is people would still do the same stupid shit behind the pace cars which would just cause the same issues.
The only way traffic pace cars would work is with better fundamental training (and enforcement of that training [meaning cops would actually have to regularly ticket people for tailgating]).
Especially here in the usa there are hardly any barriers to getting/keeping your license.
There is a massive amount of drivers who either shouldn’t be on the road at all or with heavy restrictions like not allowed to drive at night, not allowed on the highway, not allowed to drive certain classes of cars (kinda like other countries do for motorcycles because there is zero reason for any joe schmoe to just be able to legally get behind the wheel of something like a supercar on public roads)

That’s why I love Thrilling Adventure Hour so much. Its funny and in the style of old time radio.
There’s plenty of high production podiodramas but they are more like a movie to me than old radio dramas.
