this is total bullshit. you need to update for security reasons. and every time you update, you get the latest version with allpossible incompatibilities. even if you are updating only a few times per month, you don’t update to a “known working state”, you update to the latest package version with all problems that might come with it.

also long times between updates can cause various other problems.

one more example of “useless tests are bad”. unfortunately there are no statistics for this kind of harm. see my other comment

tbh: just to decrease my chance from dying to colon cancer from 1:75000 to 1:85000 I won’t let someone rummage around in my guts. fuck off! an decrease of 50% is still ignorable if only 1 in 100.000 gets it.

funny thing is: almost everyone is inventing their own rules when playing monopoly. a proper round with the correct rules takes 30-60 mins tops.
