I didn’t think the end of time would come in the form of a cease and desist stamped by the Nintendo legal department but there we are.

2·1 year agoThank you!
I’d never heard of this until your comment, and tried a few others, but as someone with LOADS of emulators and games across multiple services this is amazing. Ive just finished setting it up… I hadn’t saved this post so went trawling to find this post just to say thanks!

Technology@lemmy.ml•Proton picks up Standard Notes to deepen its pro-privacy portfolio
1·2 years agoThis is very true, and SN does do that. That said I have hundreds of notes in SN… Its essentially my life at this point so its heavily integrated and would be both a shame and a pain to migrate! Here’s hoping its positive for all involved though and this is a needless concern!

Technology@lemmy.ml•Proton picks up Standard Notes to deepen its pro-privacy portfolio
20·2 years agoMixed feelings on this, as a user of simplelogin, proton and standard notes as individual services for the last 4+ years I love them all, and trust proton.
However one of the key reasons for choosing those services was they were isolated, and without risk of vendor lock in or single points of failure… Depending how this goes it could be great, I just hope they don’t force/push integration with proton too much. Maybe I’m just being a FUD pusher. Certainly equally a chance this is great for both proton and StandardNotes. SN has lacked development on a fair few plugins recently so hopefully this aids that.
Can’t watch the video rn so going to be THAT person who asks a question that may be answered in the video…
I have a remote server running PopOS! I use with the gnome DE, I use xrdp to connect to it, have done some hinting in past about ways to use Wayland instead but had no luck. Does this slow decom mean development for Wayland over rdp may be coming soon?

Congrats?
