this is also why vote manipulation is a thing. people are prejudiced by the appearance of a consensus.

i don’t know how to explain this in a way that won’t set you off any more, but the vibe of your instant hostility comes across as reddit behavior.
the previous commenter seems uninformed and you took that moment to lash out instead of trying to correct their misunderstanding.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does anyone else notice an up tick in hostility on Lemmy lately?
4·5 months agoi’m on the spectrum and can’t handle political conversations if the other person is being confrontational. this doesn’t/shouldn’t make me a right winger, but would make you assume as much about me.

Do better, Mickey7.
Additionally, fascists need these safe spaces to convince themselves that their opinions are the majority. They don’t feel emboldened to act otherwise.
“They” include a shocking number of good people that are about to experience fascism against their will. Please don’t dance on the grave of victims.

13·1 year agoIt’s ADHD bait. When I am on my meds, I get a dopamine hit every time I progress or solve something.
DLSS is off the table, but you CAN raytrace. That being said I do not see the value of RT myself. It has the greatest performance impact of any graphical setting and often looks only marginally better than baked in lighting.
But the implementation is often a bit more stable or user friendly. Those features often do not light the world on fire because the user experience is not there yet, and google moves on too fast to finish the feature.
A lot of it comes down to software. I had a cpu performance scaling bug that meant my oneplus 7 pro would occasionally take ~5 seconds after unlock to stop being clocked at 100mhz. It made the unlock experience really laggy and crappy. It felt cheap and lazy.
Exactly. As an iphone user (and linux sysadmin, compartmentalization is not that hard), i agree with your criticisms of apple most of the time. They just make the better phone IMHO, and I say that as a nexus 4, nexus 6p, pixel XL, oneplus 7 pro, and oneplus 9 pro user. Yes i used custom roms, no I do not have the patience to treat my phone as a linux project anymore.
I regularly have android users go out of their way to try and fight me over this, and they always claim I must not have used android. It’s annoying to field over and over.

5·2 years agoYes, I have one and remember doing just that.
Pretty much this for me too. Switched to iphone because I no longer wanted to tinker, switched my work laptop to apple silicon because the battery life and performance is stellar.
Learned to be fine with mac os, do most things in terminal anyway. Will likely switch to asahi linux when it is stable enough that I don’t have to tinker, because tinkering gets in the way of actually getting things done in my situation.
Also, being real: running LLMs on my mac is great. 128gb of unified memory basically means 120gb of vram. It’s absurdly expensive, but nothing quite like it exists in the market right now.
You should take a look at her district. She represents an area barely anybody lives in. The people of colorado by and large hate her.
The only big reddit energy was this comment and the subsequent doubling down. The comment above was an even handed rebuttal, this response is tone policing and name calling.
You may disagree with his rebuttal but this is not how you respond to adversity.

Apple@lemmy.world•Upcoming USB-C AirPods Pro Not Expected to Include Any Other Hardware Changes
1·3 years agoI prefer to leave it plugged in when the lithium battery inevitably dies, since replacement is annoying and difficult.
I leave my trackpad plugged in for the same reason. I need my mouse to not be another device that needs babysitting.

Apple@lemmy.world•Upcoming USB-C AirPods Pro Not Expected to Include Any Other Hardware Changes
0·3 years agoAs an owner of a few apple magic mice and two of the giant trackpads, fuck everything about placing the charging port on the UNDERSIDE OF THE MOUSE. apple, there is a perfectly good location for the port. Front towards pc. Period. Put a usb-c cable there and let me use it while charging.
I actually prefer the older ones that run on AAs for my print room mac.
All that being said, razer naga pro for gaming. Loads of buttons, lots of macros.
