I do use the 1.5b of whatever latest ollama with open web ui as frontend for my personal use. Although I can upload files and search the web it’s too slow on my machine.

I usually combine both to unblock myself. Lately, SO, repository issues, or just going straight to the documentation of the package/crate seem to give me faster outcomes.
People have suggested that my prompts might not be optimal for the LLM. One even recommended I take a prompt engineering boot camp. I’m starting to think I’m too dumb to use LLMs to narrow my research sometimes. I’m fine with navigating SO toxicity, though it’s not much different from social media in general. It’s just how people are. You either take the best you can from it or let other people’s bad days affect yours.

7·2 months agoFun fact: Portugal has started phasing out the law that requires at least one bidet in a home, beginning in 2024. Italy, however, still keeps this law in place, if I’m not mistaken.

13·2 months agoI have friends with kids like that, and it’s scary. I’m obviously a fan of technology, but critical thinking might go down the drain if children spend all day in front of a screen at such a young age.
Yes. I don’t put on pants for work.

Memes@lemmy.ml•I propose a secondary meaning for RTFM, Read The Fucking Marx
12·2 months agoIf I understood correctly from my reading of The Communist Manifesto, the proletariat or dictatorship of the proletariat is the transitional stage before true communism takes place.

14·2 months agoI’m only going to address [3], which requires some explanation of why I made my last statement. It was a direct response to the pictures shared in the comment I replied to, and I’m well aware that none of those leaders ever passed the proletariat phase.

211·2 months agoI think OP is trying to say that he also believed in Marxist ideology when he was twenty years old, but since then he has grown up. I’ve never been a fan of Marxist ideology, although I like it on paper, but we can’t exclude the human factor. It’s far more dangerous to centralize power in the state than in individuals (as in capitalism, where companies are ultimately bound to individuals), and history has proven just that.
That said, I’m not trying to start an argument with you guys here at .ml, because I think we’d just end up going in circles. I just wanted to get this off my chest. I hope you guys can find a country with a Mao or Lenin in power… or you could just move to Cuba, which hasn’t changed since Castro’s rule.
I got there by the pattern
Honestly, I read this thread and can’t comprehend how a civilization as advanced as the United States of America thinks that defending a binary choice of democracy is a good thing to do… It’s impossible to represent a country with a few million people like that, imagine ~300M. Anyway, keep going at each other’s throats for your party color… smh.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can I lose a beer belly working out one day a week?
3·9 months agoApologies for assuming. Sugar is the number one culprit for a “beer belly”, so you find more than enough in beer.

4·9 months agoby experience, no. You need to stop drinking beer so often, and you need to eat less. Exercise is still a plus, but you need to sync your activity with your meals. I still eat whatever I want but in less quantities in general.
Some people just don’t care. To me it really feels like they are trying to create the problems to later sell the solution, and it’s a never ending cycle. I’ve quit my recent job because 90% of the team just sucks, security risks everywhere, the API just doesn’t respect contracts, there’s no contract actually, we just ask on private chats how to integrate with it really. New features on top of buggy code while support is on fire with the 100th bug ticket reported in just a week. Not to mention that you have a design team, a project manager and a “VP of engineering” but the epics they want you to do are almost just the title of the idea they had at lunch 😅.
This guys are very lucky because the operation teams is able to cash in millions of revenue a year by combining excel, monday and WhatsApp to do their jobs, while a few are still forced to interact with a piece of shit of software that the engineer department provides to them…
Anyway, some people just don’t care.
Try a Mi Band. I usually don’t recommend Xiaomi products because of their heavy tracking and intrusiveness, but if you only use the band during sleep, you should be fine. If you already have the know-how (which I suspect you do), you can control it yourself through Bluetooth, and the band will erase all data it holds once transmitted.

Will look into that when I have some money to invest. Thank you 💪
