I’ve seen mostly RHEL in professional server environments.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Framework says it's selling more Linux laptops than Windows as new Laptop 13 Pro sells out first 7 batches
2·17 days agoThe first few Framework laptops were bought back in 2024. About 30 people have a Framework now, while the rest has Lenovo’s.
Nothing but issues with Lenovo. They even have a built-in reset button on the bottom for when they freeze and not even the power button works… They are between 2-4 years old. The USB-C ports in all of them are trash.
No issues with any Framework’s so far, except one had an issue with connecting to a TV through a Lenovo dock.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Framework says it's selling more Linux laptops than Windows as new Laptop 13 Pro sells out first 7 batches
4·18 days agoWe order DIY Framework 13 for work. Assemble them ourselves, install Windows and import it into Intune.
If we could, we would use them with Linux.
Why buy Framework? The 13 price is pretty much on par with other laptops. We get easily replaceable ports and people get to choose exactly which ports they want. Easy repairs and instead of “throwing out” the laptop, it can get an upgrade. Sustainability.

Framework does not sponsor Omarchy. They sponsor Hyprland, which is mentioned in the blog post and Rails World, a conference that DHH is part of.

5·1 month agoThat’s the server currently missing from the picture. Right now it’s a mess, because I’m doing a re-setup of everything. But getting my hands on hard drives have been difficult and I actually still need a CPU and motherboard.

5·1 month agoYea, it’s a power station with built-in UPS. https://iallpowers.eu/products/allpowers-r600-portable-power-station-600w-299wh-with-lifep04-battery-1
The white box at the wall is also a battery from my solar setup, with an ATS. So kinda double UPS 🤭

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can someone break down the real differences between kbin, mbin, Lemmy, and PieFed? I know they're all in the Threadiverse, but I'm not sure what the draw is to use one over another.

Just like all the different forks of Mastodon.

8·1 month ago“Threadiverse” was used before Facebook. Threadiverse refers to a sub verse of the Fediverse.

That entirely depends on the specific models and use case.
Backups of the LXC container has been enough, but I’m thinking about doing a secondary backup of the DB itself.
Everything runs in the same container.
I have restored the container many times. Also, every time there’s an update, I backup the container first and then I can restore it if something breaks.
I have 2 local backups and then 3 remotely at Hetzner.
He should just stick to talking about WoW lol
