damn you all, now I impulse bought an old thin client for 30EUR :-) but, fwiw: I mostly use RPi for my purposes, up to RPi4; RPi 5 I think missed the mark, with its active cooling requirement and power use. (and price…) the only use case where an i86 alternative is justified is my jellyfin setup (where realtime transcoding is needed).

PgUp/PgDown when easily possible to use (the webpage/program isn’t crap etc) is very quick. If that doesn’t work, i can probably still outscroll or at least match you with two thumb scroll on the touchpad.
What I’m genuinely not sure about is how healthy touchpaddin’ is on the wrist… but i’ve been doing it for about 25 years without major issues so i guess i at last for used to it.

Around 1998, bought 2 old servers from my university with dual 486dx50 cpu, eisa bus and scsi. They had flashable bios which was a security risk at the time if you used Windows so i was told i could try something called suse Linux on it - and i got hooked. I fanatically read thru all the man pages and soaked in all the knowledge, i don’t think i enjoyed learning anything else this much in my life, like finding a new galaxy. Then this new thing called Debian Potato came out and i’ve been a debian fan ever since.
I’m really happy with Manjaro. I thought it would be a detour from Debian on my laptop, but I’ve been running it for like 2 years now.

You are probably right for something like a Pihole, which can easily run on a RPi 3 as well (I think I’m running it on a 3… maybe even a 2.) My fear is something like Jellyfin (which it is not suited for anyway, I know), combined with the fact that my stack of Pis is in my meter cabinet, so a fairly confined space with very little air movement, also passive. Running Jellyfin without transcoding has my Pi 5 running at just under 50 °C.
