For one thing - it’s not just one grenade. I said it 3 times: grenades. Say, scattered all around the playground and classroom.

I’m not asking who is responsible. Knowing who is responsible isn’t going to stop the ankle-biters from blowing each other - and themselves - to smithereens. It doesn’t matter who is responsible right now - first we need to stop them from exploding.

I’m asking what the better solution to the problem would be: should we try to separate the kids from the grenades, or try to teach 5-year olds the proper use and care of handheld explosives?

Let’s say we have 2 kindergarten classes, and in one of them we let them play with balls, Frisbees, and playground equipment. In the other, we let them play with balls, Frisbees, playground equipment, and grenades.

If some of these tykes get exploded, do you think it would make more sense to limit their access to the grenades, or to try to teach them how to use the grenades responsibly?

The prison industrial complex was the status quo long before Biden was even born. Why limit it to him? Blame Nixon and Reagan for both the drug epidemic and the criminalization of drug possession (accounting for something like 40% of the current prison population), and the near collapse of mental health and rehabilitation programs. Almost learned this the hard way with a coworker. You’re right, but I just noticed something about that (I’m probably very late to the party here): so an endpoint of unregulated capitalism is that ownership is limited to a few, who almost certainly acquired ownership through some form of class exploitation and theft. Or, to oversimplify it…ownership is theft. Hmm, sounds familiar.

there’s been plenty of times when I’m bored at work, and could totally get away with browsing whatever on lemmy; but I don’t feel like having a conversation with HR because someone walks by my desk. I’d much rather know there’s something here that might offend someone (even if it doesn’t offend me, or you personally for that matter).

OP isn’t saying not to add the requirement. They’re saying it should read “minimum 5 years”, not “minimum 5 to 10 years” which makes no sense.
