I think the key metric isn’t time to reply. The stakes matter- replying quickly to a meme is less important than, like, making plans. If someone isn’t responsive about if they want to go, then I probably don’t get a ticket for them, and they can’t come to the show with us. Sorry. You were busy.

And the quality is also important. I’ve got friends that will reply like a day or two later, but then we usually have a whole conversation.

If someone is replying every few days with “lol” tier responses, it’s going to feel like a waste of my time.

Yeah I was ready to agree. I worked with some people that would use vanilla sublime, and then get mad when their PRs were rejected for having problems. I read the meaning as someone thinking it weird to text back immediately. That was the offense. As if you should play it cool and wait to respond.

I personally respond quickly if I’m holding my phone and the message comes in, usually.

Most people don’t really care about abstract or long term things. You can tell them that buying the game supports bad stuff, and they could at least wait for a sale, but they’re no better than a toddler.
