  • Protagonist has got to be Bayonetta (though it’s based only on the first game). Her character growth in the first game was so good, even if the plot was a little convoluted. Never finished the second one since I didn’t like playing on the Switch and never played the third one. Hope her character is still good though.

Honorable mentions are Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, and Stelle from Honkai Star Rail (though this one is mostly for the absolutely ridiculous dialogue options we get to choose).

Favorite female antagonist is hands down GLaDOS. Such a fun, sarcastic, and likeable villain.

  • Woman on the right is Alice Weidel. According to Wikipedia, she’s “a German far-right politician who has been serving as co-chairwoman of the right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party alongside Tino Chrupalla since June 2022. Since October 2017, she has held the position of leader of the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag.” She admires former conservative British PM Margaret Thatcher and has worked with Hungary’s far-right PM Victor Orban. She is staunchly against asylum seekers stating that they should not receive health insurance and has been in favor fo burqa, niqab, and headscarf bans. Although she herself is a lesbian, she only supports civil partnerships for gay couples and opposes same-sex marriage and early sexualization education.

Sanae Takaichi, the likely next PM of Japan, is an ultra-conservative politician who, like Weidel, also admires Margaret Thatcher. According to PBS, “Takaichi supports the imperial family’s male-only succession, opposes same-sex marriage and…is a wartime history revisionist and China hawk.” Though it seems like she does have some policies that would benefit women, experts fear she’ll actually set women back because she needs to show loyalty to the male heavyweights in order to keep her position.

I’d argue people who lack critical thinking skills are more likely to be scared and/or angry than they are to be happy.

They’re told that people like immigrants, the LGBT community, the poor etc are trying to take valuable resources away and force their culture/agenda. That these groups are dangerous, inferior, and deserve harsher treatment.

They’re told that we need to give up personal liberties in the name of security. That sites requiring ID to confirm your age is a good thing to protect the children.

They’re told that climate change is a hoax created by liberals to take away their right to use gas cars and funnel money into renewable energy.

I’m sure there are other talking points but I got tired just thinking about it.

It’s all equally exhausting if you ask me.
