81·4 months agoI believe in aliens if that counts.
They got cancelled years ago, not now. People were EXTREMELY pissed when it got cancelled so they brought it back.
Just a bunch of Japanese script kiddies targetting the fediverse and its network for some reason. There’s active measures being taken and thankfully many instances are monitoring it pretty well.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why did the left become so antisemitic?
2·2 years agoIdk if this was wonky kbin federation or spam to start shit but posting it three times in a row isn’t going to lead to more people biting the bait
Let it happen organically. It will happen in waves.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Under what conditions would you be OK with ads on your lemmy instance?
62·2 years agoI think for a shitpost instance a custom ad network banner ads with memes and shitposts would be make sense. What I mean by that is that on geocities as well as some small internet sites there’s “custom ad networks” where they basically rely on donations and or just random people submitting “ads” that normally tend to be just links to their site, weird obscure memes, animal pictures, etc.
I think real ads for the sake of advertising on lemmy wouldn’t really be acceptable in any form, but shitposting ads have potential imo

10·2 years agoI can vouch for slrpnk.net. Their staff team is fantastic and extremely proactive in engaging on matters pertaining to user safety.

19·2 years agoWhat reasons are they uncomfy and is there any way we can make women safer here? Not sealioning, being genuine. I try my best to make my instance as inclusive and welcoming as possible and would love to know if there’s anyway I could improve. I honestly would go as far to say there’s a pretty high ratio of women on literature.cafe compared to other small niche focused instances, but I don’t have any actual statistics to gauge from to say definitively.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Client that supports blocking instances?
181·2 years agoIt should be noted, it is likely coming to lemmy specifically soon.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•I just developed and published a script to clear your pict-rs object storage from potential CSAM.English
1·2 years agoI think building such a system of some kind that can allow smaller instances to rely from help from larger instances would be extremely awesome.
Like, lemmy has the potential to lead the fediverse is safety tools if we put the work in.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think of our lord and saviour Odysee.com?
31·2 years agoIt’s interesting, that’s for sure. But the fact it is filled by nazis and the comment section is just swarming with antisemitism and bigotry is very much not something I’m willing to sift thru.

2·2 years agoYou are correct, there is safe harbor provisions on the matter. There is a legal responsibility to report and store the content securely when it is reported as an admin.
Your eyes have “immune privilege” meaning your immune system effectively does not know they exist as it would attack them and make you go blind if it did.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•People bitching about Lemmy.world blocking piracy instances sound like spoiled teenagers with no consideration of consequences
21·2 years agoAbsolutely, literally just swap instances. Hopefully instance migration comes in a similar way that mastodon offers.

1·2 years agoIt also only takes a single gigabyte of RAM per file being edited, Isn’t that fantastic?
I’m sorry, but this just isn’t good advice especially if this post is referring to arthritis, ME/CFS or other autoimmune conditions which is where most moderate to severe joint pain stems from. Arthritis is a debilitating autoimmune condition that requires consistent medical treatment to address the underlying autoimmune issues that causes it. Alongside that, moving and forcing yourself to be active with persistent joint pain will only worsen the overall damage and inflammation that autoimmune conditions cause towards joints.
