I think that is mildly satisfying. To be fair: I haven’t seen a single book shop sorting the books alphabetical. A book shop isn’t a library.

Replace ‘average’ by ‘median’ to be correct. The average can be distorted by especially dumb people.

This question is actually pretty old. Already ancient Greek / Roman philosophers discussed this.

Never heard of this. We say ‘auf links, rechts zu’ and simply order the words alphabetically
