My sister once told my mom that empathy is what’s ruining this country. It’s not even like it was a misinterpretation/misunderstanding, that’s almost word for word how she said it. I can’t fathom how someone comes to that line of thinking.
They’re pretty far gone from shame, embarassment, or believing anything that makes them look gullible. So even if you did dupe them out of their money and donate it in a way they find displeasing, they are so well practiced at mental gymnastics as to avoid admitting they were deceived or feeling bad about it. And then you would have just exposed yourself to liability for fraud and probably doxxed yourself, becoming a target of harassment or worse.
If charging speed were your top priority, sure. She doesn’t use her phone hardly at all so the battery rarely gets depleted much, therefore how quickly it charges isn’t really that important. Not having to mess with a wire makes it more convenient to grab and go when she does need it, and more convenient to put it back when done. And no risk of damaging the USB port.
When my mom finally ditched her land line and ported the number to a smart phone, getting a wireless charger that propped the phone up was a nice way to set up a sort of designated place to keep the phone (where the landline phone had been) so that there’s less chance she misplaces the phone or forgets to charge it.
How much time do you have?
That depends, you’re not just gonna show me another picture are you?
It being the entire country?
I don’t think that’s right, I’m terrible at games but I still respect women (enough to spare them from interacting with me whenever possible. Same goes for all people really)
That’s a golden shower. The golden rule is that it’s not gay when it’s in a 3 way
Is it a cultural difference with Europe (and other parts of the world) to not go in the streets?
Yes, the American culture of rugged individualism instead of collectivism is certainly a factor here. It’s not like it’s entirely unheard of here in the USA to have large protests (look at what happened with the killing of George Floyd) but for systemic issues, it doesn’t generally get people in the streets, I think at least partly because there’s so many we’ve put up with for so long.
There’s also American Exceptionalism making us less introspective and self-critical of our systems of governance and economics compared to the rest of the world, and so people tend to just accept it as “well it’s the best there is” without considering how it could be better. There’s also the economics of it where we have less or no time off from work to get out for such events.
Are those occurring but the medias do not inform us on it?
There are protests happening but there does seem to be, putting it charitably, a lack of interest to report on such things, and the protests that are happening don’t seem to be happening at a large enough scale to make a difference.
My mom frequently expresses surprise that more isn’t being done to suppress the protests that are happening, I think it’s because they’re not afraid of the protests escalating into larger action, and so actively suppressing them would actually do more to raise the profile of the protests that are happening and fuel the flames, whereas you just get the media not to report on it that much and let it die out on its own.
Are people scared to protest?
Yes, I imagine plenty are, especially those who may be targeted by ICE or have friends/family who may be targeted by ICE.
Or, people just don’t care or are even, in majority, happy with what happens now?
To an extent, yes. I don’t know if I’d say that the majority are happy with the things happening, but a majority are probably okay with it, or just going along in ignorance (willful or otherwise), or too busy or tired just trying to survive rather than make things better. There are many people who don’t care until they are directly and severely impacted with the consequences of their choices, and even that isn’t enough to change some people’s minds.
I’m not sure what exactly you mean by “in between” here (between 2.4 and 5 GHz?), but commercial radio in the US is at much lower frequencies than wifi bands. AM radio is typically measured in KHz (the range is something like 600-1400, I can’t be bothered to look it up), while FM radio is in MHz (around 87-108 MHz).
I’m pretty sure Beast is eating a burger here, but I can’t see it as anything but an homage/crossover with the Cookie Monster
“We have always been at war with Eastasia Democrats.”
I never thought about it before, but now that you mention it, I have never seen Sonic and Barry Allen together in the same room at the same time
Never played the sequel but that is unfortunate to hear they dropped the ball after the first one
Mario vs Rabbids surprised me with how good it was. Mario Kart 8 with the expansion pass is great, especially if you have friends to play with.
What was the marketing that convinced you to buy it way back when?
