Rednote is a Instagram like social media application. Tiktokers have been flocking to it in such numbers that it’s topping multiple app stores. Typically it is used by Chinese diaspora and mainland Chinese people to communicate but Americans are joining the app to protest the banning of tiktok.

Its causing a few issues for the social ecology of the app and the Chinese state is censoring and fencing off some of the content there as a result.

Its Chinese controlled and the US government dislikes the Chinese state. That’s pretty much it. Its pure spite for the US government.

Wasn’t just the corpos it was a joint project between the corps and the government. And in rebellion people are giving a rival nation full access to everything. If China had an obligation competitor you would be smart betting that they would’ve seen millions of holes before dawn just form people trying to spit in the face if tbe US.

I don’t think LLMs and other models will ever go away I just want them to not be shoe horned into absolutely everything. They’re actively useful for certain analyses and tasks, they just aren’t a panacea.

Not only is AI a new market but it’s the only market where someone with way less investment can leapfrog the shit out of you and that group can just release shit for free just to stab you in the dick after billions of investment. Open AI only has a hope if it can get massive state level contracts to fund it, likely by offering some type of surveillance service which they aren’t even specced for but models like these are great at. Just all round bad investment decision to buy into them unless you know what they’re planning.

Harris absolutely would not put American boots on the ground to fuck with Israel’s neighbors because Israel isn’t worth it in the slightest. But what Israel does have is a AIPAC and the current political situation means that if a shit ton of money and political favors and compromot gets turned against Harris the moment she or Biden piss Netanyahu off enough, ruining the presidential election but also down ballot campaigns.

I understand genocide quite well. If there is justice America will face a great many consequences and Israel will as well. But the key issue right now is Trump will win if Kamala does not. And Trump will do more than make the genocide worse he will make this country worse than before in ways that will cost lives here and abroad. That isn’t saying Harris is perfect, it’s saying Trump is worse. And I know that sucks ass. It does. But it’s been sucking ass and it won’t be fixed until we have a real national left party or otherwise that has an actual edge in a national election.

At least other nations have more balls and I’m hoping international pressure starts to weigh on the US as well. But Trump is famously manipulatable by dictators, love Netanyahu etc all the coming sucking memes. I don’t think for a moment that Trump would yield to and international pressure in a positive way. By providing more weapons, removing all pretext of even a symbalance of a spine, putting our troops on the ground in neighboring nations to expand the fuckery. This can get much much much worse and I don’t know why people ignore it. Trump will lead to greater horrors that’s the whole reason we are pissed because we don’t have real options right now.

Trump even stated he wantsd to accelerate it. Which was a major strategic mistake on his part he could’ve just shut tf up about it or lied about forcing a ceasefire but he can’t think ahead at all.
