I remember decades ago when I did desktop support, we had found a software which could initiate remote desktop without the user (in our network) having to do anything on their end. IT Security was not happy with us when they eventually found out, but it was so goddamn convenient while it worked :D

We were on a previous version, so that’s why. I think that’s actually what hypercharged this drama. If I had not fell back on my upgrade schedule for a while, I would have realized tesseract was doing blacklists early on, and the backlash was probably be orders of magnitude lower. But because he had time to build this up to this monster, when people discovered it, it was a huge deal.

Godfuckingdamnit. I was wondering why the system kept blocking our instance even after I removed it from the blacklist. I suspected some sort of lookup but I was out of time and couldn’t find it with a quick search. This is so much worse than I expected.

Where does it dowload it exactly? I found the line loading policy.dat, but I can’t find any calls to tesseract.dubvee.org.

The only true answer to genai is to make all models created by skimming the commons, mandatory open weight and open sourced. If you try to buff copyrights to defeat genai, it’s going to boomerang right back in your face
