The vivohome with knob, not remote.
Pressure is great, too much actually, depending.
I got it because it was the cheapest one with all the features, and in fact is even cheaper now than when I bought it.
It’s been going strong for 3 and a half years now
Bidet crew checking in.
Mines got hot water. I don’t mean that it’s got a pipe for hot water, and you have to wait forever for it to warm up. I mean it’s got a water heater built in. And a heated seat. And a hot air blower… dryer? Butt hair dryer? It’s nice, especially in the winter.
Clean your butts, people

14·7 months agoAnother vote here for framework 13. Love mine.
I’ve had mine about 4 months, minimal issues. I got a 7840U slightly on sale when the new AI 300 series came out.
I’m also running fedora 42, but it’s Bluefin, based on silverblue. Everything works out of the box.
My biggest complaint is the sleep battery drain, iirc it’s something like a few percent per hour, so I just get in the habit of turning it completely off if I’m not home with it plugged in. Otherwise it’s dead when I need it, which sucks.
Also the fan can be a little loud and overzealous under barely moderate load, though I’ve found keeping it in power saving mode helps keep things cooler. Though I’ve been using it for note taking during some schooling this week, and it’s been stone cold and silent, lasts all day on a single charge. So it definitely depends on your load. I appreciate having the power available when I need it, but wish it was better at keeping itself underclocked (or whatever it needs to do).
And finally the stock Wi-Fi 6 card in it gives some people problems with certain routers. Though I’ve only ever had problems with my parents starlink router 🤷♂️ That’s a quick $20 upgrade though, to Wi-Fi 7, I just haven’t needed to 🤷♂️
But still I’d buy another in a heartbeat.
Keyboard is great. Screen (2.8k) looks great to my eyes, though others say it has issues. No flex in the body. Touchpad is a little funky, but still great.
Plus when I want to upgrade the platform in a few years, or any component breaks before then, I can just fix it or upgrade it.
Highly recommend.
I was thinking this might be the case, but didn’t want to do the math. Thank you.
I’m on silverblue, well, bluefin, specifically.
So far so happy 🤷♂️
Meh, just clean water spots in the shape of feet, it’ll dry 🤷♂️
Oh man, I don’t know how this could be true. I work manual labor, in sneakers. I spend all summer recreational time in either flip flops or barefoot. So while I don’t have huge callouses on my feet, I’ve got some. Not tender baby feet.
But still, one day it was like 70 or 80 out, I changed out fancy clothes into shorts, but forgot to pack my flip flops. I really wanted to walk down to an event that was going on, but I didn’t want to wear black fancy shoes with my shorts. So I went barefoot on the sidewalk, about 3/4 of a mile.
I did like you said and walked in the grass a lot, but man the concrete was hotter than I expected. It didn’t hurt at first, but each new step I took found freshly warmed concrete that just heated my foot more. Keeping moving definitely wasn’t helping. Eventually it started to hurt, even with walking in as much grass as I could.
I got to where I was going, grass covered area, and didn’t think too much of it.
When I went to leave? Oh man. My feet hurt. Looking at them closely, I had several blisters on both feet. I cooked em. I couldn’t walk back, I had to call my friend to pick me up.
That was on regular concrete. I cannot imagine doing that on asphalt, I wouldn’t make it a hundred feet.
Maybe I really do have tender baby feet 🤔

My wife has one, I don’t like to use it, it’s too aggressive for me.
I can reach my back with my arms. To get the spot right between my shoulders I have to reach up and come down from the top with one arm, while using my other hand to grab my elbow and pull it to push my hand low enough to get it more effectively.
The ole AT power supply standard. Nice.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do Americans want to know the month first and the day second?
2·9 months agoYou articulated what I was thinking, better than I could have. This is it for me.
I’d add that there’s probably a lot of habit involved, plus the fact that everyone else does it.
So not only am I not used to saying “today is the 4th of May”, everyone around me isn’t used to hearing it either and might think I’m being weird.

3·9 months agoI’ve definitely pulled my hair out with docker too. Banged my head against the wall for a couple days before finally giving up.
I’m not ridiculously tech savvy, but I’ve tinkered with Linux since I was young, daily drive it on my laptop. I’m not afraid of the command line, and I’m smart enough to search for help and guides when I need it.
But something about docker just breaks my brain. Maybe I’m too old and there’s too much abstract thought required, I don’t know. But I can’t figure it out.

2·10 months agoThanks for this, but I apologize, I’m still confused.
You’ve described fixed gear, and geared, I think we now agree as to what these are.
But what is a single speed bike? I’ve never heard of it. Is it a geared bike, with only one gear, but still has a tensioner? So it can’t have hub brakes? Why would such a thing exist?
