I’ll be honest, for some of us “essential” workers it was hell. We didn’t get that time, we didn’t get bonus compensation, we didn’t get space. I lost multiple family members during those events and didn’t even get to say goodbye to them. I say this out of genuine but not negative jealousy. Be thankful for that time you had. The way people describe it to me makes me want to agree with you about the world should take turns shutting down now and then to give people time and space to connect.

Oh my gosh you’re right! Just got done finding the wiki on them as well. I forgot that was when they switched formats.
That was 100.7 WMMS when they got bought by clear channel! That is a reference I never thought I’d see in the wild.
So I don’t know anything about the math or physics of the situation, but I do actually work on cars. A car has both and evaporator and heater core. Meaning it is capable of using the evaporator core to act as a dehumidifier before the fan from the blower motor pushes it through the heater core and up into the cabin. The heater core gets it’s heat from the engine coolant. When the heat is activated a little internal door opens and runs the coolant through it. I’m assuming you’d understand the rest. But thats why it takes time for your hot air to blow. The engine hasn’t heated up enough to transfer it to the coolant.

Absolutely! The planes not cluttering the skies was another one I didn’t expect to appreciate at the time. A decade or so ago I was in Ohio when the US had like the entire eastern seaboard power grid drop for an evening. The night sky that night was something else, even through the clouds at the time. Makes me wish someday that I’ll be able to go to one of the darker places on earth to really see the night sky in all its glory before I die.
