Linux@lemmy.ml•For laptop owners: What is the landscape of linux sleeping policy like 2026, i.e. S0ix vs S3?
5·1 month agoFair point. Even my asus zenbook 2025 around 20% of times when I close my lid, it goes to hibernation and asus Software notifies that due to system not going to sleep within time, it was forced to go into hibernate. In Linux, forcing might work for s3 but u need to test out wirh everything. Else it’ll be stuck in between. Do you have a system currently which is comparable to framework specs? Yes I know they have much better out of the box suppoet for Linux but in this way you can test out you main Hardware for support. Try a live boot on a system and then check.

In my region, PS5s were out of stock for a long time. Yesterday new stock came. Approx $200 more expensive than before. That too is for the digital version. 1 week not enough. Should be indefinite. Seeing industry trends, next one might be over $400 more expensive than current gen

Dude forgot that its not something like computers or the internet. Jobs DONT depend on AI. AI is only used for assistance. Heck AI uses the same tools as humans to perform the same task so yeah no. If AI dissappear tomorrow (which a lot us will want to cuz RAM prices…nonsensical AI videos images etc), my job will be even more secured. No issues if AI goes away. Also, in some sensitive client projects, companies dont even allow the use of AI so it doesn’t really matter
