Is there one to get rid of the “piss” filter they put over the game? That’s really my only complaint so far.
Edit: There is! I knew this would be one of the first ones out of the gate.

A deluxe edition does seem a little lame for a remaster. But at the same time the deluxe edition is still cheaper than Starfield and I’d much rather play this.
I straight up got emotional during the trailer and announcement stream. Oblivion was the first RPG of this kind that I ever played and was one of my favorite games in middle school. Hopefully it’s a stable release because I wanna play that shit as soon as I get home from work.
“Hey you, you’re finally awake.”
My only thing is that I hope they fixed some of the blaring issues with the original. I still go back and play Oblivion from time to time, but I usually have to spend 4 or 5 hours just downloading and installing mods. My biggest gripe with Oblivion has always been enemy scaling. Unless you do the main quest first you’ll be fighting the strongest enemies in the game by the time you get around to it.
I guess I’ll piggyback on the other comment and say laziness doesn’t exist at work. People definitely have off days or hate their job, but I’d say pretty much all the “laziness” I have experienced in my life at different jobs usually boils down to awful work conditions, managers or bosses that don’t care about you, not getting paid enough for the actual work, or general distain for your corporate overlords if you work for a big company. Some may call me lazy, but I’m working exactly as hard as I feel like they deserve when I’m 30 years old and still living in a studio apartment one paycheck away from being homeless. And I’m not gonna work at 100% when 100% of my needs are not being met. And I make more than anyone else in my family so I’m technically the “successful child.”
Yeah, I guess don’t quote me on that. That’s just what everyone on the reviews was saying on Steam.
I appreciate it more because it’s generative AI based off of user created content and their own content. I respect that more than using outside sources that got their training data from god knows where and just slap that shit in there and call it a day.
I’ve seen some people play it and it seems pretty cool. Although it doesn’t look amazing and seems pretty shallow, it’s only $40. The price tag alone is almost enough for me to give it a try. Any of the Sims games are hundreds of dollars at this point if you wanna buy the DLC. And that’s on a decent sale, too.
Which is really unfortunate because The Sims 4 was my least favorite of the franchise. Probably only played it for about 20 hours over the years while I have hundreds in 2 and 3.
Kinda on topic, but imma give you some perspective into what it’s like to be a liberal leaning person in a deeply red county. Half my friends are independent or republican, all my coworkers and my boss are republicans, and even my dad is straight up MAGA. I’ve always voted third party because I hated that Democrats never get anything done, but I did vote heavily democrat this past election because I knew how fucked everything would be.
I would say 99% of people do not care or don’t think it’s a big deal. The ravenous Trump supporters you see on the internet and in videos are more of a minority than the norm. There are definitely some hardcore MAGA here but most everyone is just regular everyday people that are just carrying on like nothing is different. Most of them don’t spend much time on the internet and they hardly watch the news. I was talking about the tariff situation to a cashier at a gas station just this morning and it was the first time they were hearing it. And with the news not even covering half the shit that’s going on they probably never will. My roommate works downtown and he didn’t even know about the protests at the Capitol until I mentioned it to him 3 days later.
I guess my point is that the average person isn’t even informed. Not everyone spends a lot of time on the internet so they don’t even see what’s going on. They decide to vote specifically because the candidate says “Republican” and that’s the furthest thought that goes into it. Everyone talks about “this is what they voted for” as if any more thought went into their vote for Romney or McCain than their vote for Trump. And I don’t blame them for it because as far as they know, this was just like any other election. They’ve been bamboozled by local news to think everything is still exactly the same as they slowly pushed the Trump agenda onto them. The hardcore MAGA are definitely fascists in every sense of the word, but these regular everyday people are not fascists. They were just voting for the party they always voted for and were just expecting the same kinda shit from Trump’s first term, and the local news didn’t tell them anything different.
My philosophy is that Civ 5 and Civ 6 are just fine. My friend was going to buy 7 on release and I was like “yeah, but you can just go play Civ 6. It’s not like it’s a bad game just because the new one is out.” And I’m glad I convinced him otherwise because of how “okay” Civ 7 has been so far. Nothing against the game, I just already have the last three Civ games with all DLC and there is still a mountain of content that we already have to play with each other.
As someone that lives above a meth-lab, that’s a pretty good analogy. One day I’m selling my old car to them and we’re shooting the shit, the next they’re banging on my door at 3 AM saying they’re gonna fucking kill me for literally no reason.
If you strive for perfection you will always fall short. Just do what you can. I started actually going to stores instead of buying things online, but sometimes that is not feasible. If I absolutely have to buy something from Amazon, I canceled my Prime and just wait longer for my packages. As for the other services Amazon provides I have no idea. Look for alternatives as best you can.
The goal is more about giving as little money as possible to Amazon. You don’t have to go cold turkey and cut it all out if it causes problems for you. Use this time to research alternatives for the future as you pivot away.
Can’t deny that. The ratio of good/bad presidents is definitely abysmal.
You could look at any country in the world and find leaders that were just as bad and even worse throughout history. I think the takeaway should be that shitty people exist. Some of it is a product of the times, some of it just being awful people. Shitty people have and always will exist.
Edit: With these downvotes it almost seems like y’all thought I was defending them. I absolutely was not defending them. :)
I think that’s just a side effect of making new editions for any TCG. If you don’t provide an incentive to get the new hotness no one will buy it.
Commander has always been my least favorite way to play. I have no comment on anything else because I lost interest completely when they started pushing it. But I will say, every time I hear news about it I’m glad that I stopped dumping money into that cash cow of a card game. And from a business standpoint, I feel they’ve shot themselves in the foot. The reason why Pokemon cards are still so widely sought after is because, for the most part, things have stayed the same (And collectors, of course). With MTG there’s basically no point in owning any cards before 2016 since they’re all underpowered or illegal in any formal setting. Besides hardcore collectors, they’re basically just cardboard.
As much as I absolutely hate PewDiePie with every fiber of my being, this is probably the best thing that could happen to Linux’s mainstream popularity. That dude’s got so many followers that it’ll get a lot of people interested.
It’s a remaster of a game from 2006 with a fresh coat of paint and some QOL changes and that’s basically all it ever could be. 70% of the game did not age well and they honestly did the best they could. If they did a complete remake and “modernized” the game all the old-school fans would be pissed. If they kept it as true to the original as possible besides a facelift they’d make it harder for new players to want to pick it up. I feel like a good 7/10 was the best they could shoot for under most circumstances.
And if you ask anyone where Bethesda fell off, depending on which game was their first, they will all give you a different answer. For me Morrowind and Oblivion are the best in the series and that’s with over 500 hours in Skyrim. They’ve been dumbing their games down with each new iteration since the 90s as they try to “modernize” the newest game each time and reach new audiences. Like, good luck playing Morrowind or Daggerfall these days without losing your patience in a matter of hours. And Morrowind especially is barely playable without mods these days.
I still hated Starfield, though. Gave it the old college try and left so underwhelmed I couldn’t tell you a damn thing about the story.
