Drugs and alcohol and other non-necessities generally are not free. So I am not sure how you’d fund those things or the partying, depending what that means to you.

But if you choose to do that nothing would happen, society would support the costs of you having safe (although likely fairly frugal) housing, sufficient food, and medical care. There are already people who live that way but without the food, housing, or care; they may resort to crime to meet their needs (negative affect on society) or may just have such poor health that they require much more expensive care (already at the cost of taxpayer in capitalistic society) than they would have if they’d been able to access care before it became a dire emergency.

Research generally indicates that capitalist societies already pay more to address the consequences of poverty than it would cost to provide those people with their basic needs in the first place.

My family has been doing mixed beef cattle and crops for 5 generations. The land is a bit too tough out there to rely solely on crops, but has some good areas for planting interspersed with hilly areas only really suitable for grazing. Single family mixed farms are still common enough in certain areas, but dwindling, as (often) Chinese mega corps gradually buy up the land and amass what they can. It’s more efficient and there is less concern for stewardship of land that will be passed down to one’s family, so it’s easy for them to be more economically competitive.

It’s interesting, but it’s also completely unrelated aside from a larger discussion about what people can spend their time and energy on? The obvious answer is “people can care about more than one thing” and the secondary response is about how this initiative is easy to participate in compared to limiting climate change. If you could just sign an online petition to limit the effects of climate change I am quite certain it would get just as much or more support… so false equivalency/over exaggeration of what “this kind of rallying support” is. And yeah, limiting climate change directly benefits a lot of people. I would love it if the treasured forests near my home weren’t burning to ash more and more every year, disappearing all the places I loved to go.

Oh yeah I didn’t do a ton of parrying in Elden Ring, I just found it an easier game overall because you have so many options for weapons and play styles, and more opportunities to overlevel if you want to. In Elden Ring making use of things like bleed and rot or even just a big old bashing club can really turn things in your favour

I don’t think Sekiro is more forgiving necessarily, but it’s a very tight and precise game so it’s easier to catch onto the timing and feels satisfying to do, never like “I should have been able to hit that, my gun didn’t shoot :(“ I would say Elden Ring is a lot easier than Sekiro though.

And this really only holds true if people breed their wild-caught aquatic animals - otherwise you are just grabbing a living being from its home and putting it in a tiny cage. There is a place for wild caught fish, but it doesn’t seem very kind to remove them from their habitat to languish in an aquarium for a fraction of their normal lifespan, which is undoubtedly what happens a lot…

I often just fail until it gets embarrassingly or super inconveniently bad. My only strategy that was ever even a little helpful was breaking the task into tiny micro 5 minute tasks and writing them all down, and doing a few of those at a time. I had adhd though, and am hoping medication will help with that (so far it has a bit).

As others have said, you need to take your cat not peeing very very seriously, it can quickly become a several thousand dollar surgery or ICU stay, and it can even be fatal, if your cat is that stressed I think you need to temporarily remove the kitten at least and try again more gradually and with the advice others have given. But for now you need to take your cat to the vet asap.

Yeah from my brief reading it seems they can adapt to food salinity by altering their urine concentrations so I don’t think that’s a huge factor, at least it’s not something that comes into play before the other factors begin to harm them. But if you could fix their skin and buoyancy, diet may start to matter. But their prey is also a different salinity than the water it lives in a lot of the time, and sometimes they eat land animals like birds and such ofc.

There are types of freshwater river dolphins in the Yangtze (well, one of these species probably is extinct there as of recently but still) and the Amazon, for example. Sea dolphins can survive in freshwater for awhile but their skin isn’t adapted to it, and it will get damaged eventually. That and the difference in buoyancy in sea water vs freshwater leads to the sea dolphins eventually getting exhausted in freshwater.
