It’s got to. It doesn’t happen very often, but I have had pants go in fine and come out of the dryer with holes. Of course, they were a few years old, but still…
Hm… I need to start getting some of these hobbies… I live in an apartment so gardening seems like a no-go so that narrows it down.

Laziness lol

If you twiddle them, you’ll see exactly what the previous commenter is talking about. For example, try comparing socialist countries like Russia and Cuba to other countries of a similar level of development, like any random country in the Third World, or Africa, Asia, or South America that didn’t use imperialism in the 1800’s, to boost its development.
You’ll see a 15-25 year difference in life expectancy during that time. And that’s without causing the awful conditions in the rest of the world that Europe and the US did by boosting their development through slavery, war, imperialism, and colonialism.

Even the CIA admitted they had just as much food as they did in the US. People voted not to dissolve the USSR for a reason and then they did it anyway. Overall, life wasn’t that bad there, you’re mostly falling for propaganda.
Even the surveillance wasn’t that bad (compared to let’s say the US where the FBI was running amok at the time spying on every leftist organization, doing assassinations, blackmail, wiretapping, etc). They didn’t have Pizza Hut and jeans were hard to come by, but other than that, they managed to improve the lives for the vast majority of their population without having to do the colonialism and imperialism of the US and the West.

Good picks. Loved a lot of those as a kid.
EDIT: Magic School Bus and Bill Nye also reminded me of some other fun educational shows I loved as a kid: Zoboomafoo and Reading Rainbow. I know Zoboomafoo has a modern equivalent called Wild Kratts that I haven’t watched. Not sure if Reading Rainbow does.

Feel like I’m missing something here.

What’s that?

Plus a number of historians with different fields.

Oh I see what you’re saying. I thought you were saying 12 different states, as in different countries. I’ve been reading a lot of international news lately.

I feel like the US would take over California again if that was the case. It’s why they like to split up their enemies, to make them easier to control (Korea, China, all the gulf states and parts of the Ottoman Empire, Yugoslavia, etc.).
My personal view is yes, California should leave. I feel like California has the best chance of turning into some sort of Democratic Socialist state without the rest of the US holding it back, and it’s big and rich enough it could possibly actually defend it.

100% agree with op. Just saw Happy Death Day recently for the first time and was impressed by how fun it was, but it took me a while.

Thanks for answering. That’s a great reply and I’m going to save this comment.

How do you get past the initial brainworms even bringing up the word communism? Like someone else said above, I feel like I can’t even bring up an alternative path or get them to pick up a book without them yelling about China and Tiannamen Square, or Stalin and his killing a bajillion millon people, or how “communism has never worked”. It’s so annoying to have to go back to these basic, first-grade points every time.

Lol good luck
