I just started using Proton mail’s aliases for that and love it. If I see a bunch of spam coming to one particular alias, I’ll just delete it and make a new one. So far, it’s been great

I have great service with IT people because I do this by default. I’ll have already tried some steps myself, so I’ll give them info about what exactly works, doesn’t work, and things that I can or can’t do that might be related to the main issue.

I know for absolutely fucking sure I won’t be at the proverbial “top” of society. But since I moved out of my parents house, I’ve slowly been making my way into a solid middle class, fairly comfortable position. I’m a dad, a husband, a typical working class American and I’m pretty satisfied right now.

No, so I’m just straight up trying to connect to the NAS IP with port 8096, but can’t get through to anything.

So where I get to the Synology console through 192.168.x.x:5000, I’m trying 192.168.x.x:8096 and getting nothing.

Edit: Turns out the container was running local port 49154. Need to change that

Yeah, I would prefer not to use Google, so I’m going to figure out how to use another authenticator. I wish Proton had the ability to be an authenticator, but I haven’t seen a way to do that yet.

But all my family has a Google account, so it just makes things easier.

I just got this working today and can say it’s quite an elegant solution. It means anyone with a Google account (that I allow through Cloudflare settings) can take advantage of immich. I plan to be the storage server for my family so they can have automatic photo backups.

If you decide to go that route and have questions, hit me up. I spent a while troubleshooting issues caused by not creating a SaaS application in Cloudflare, so read the directions exactly.

Hmm, I’d always understood ellipses to mean a thought was trailing off, or as a written indicator of someone thinking as if taking a pause while speaking.

Dogs are hyperactive balls of weight, teeth, and claws and they typically don’t understand their own bodies and the harm they can cause.

I see “good” dogs constantly jumping on people, scratching them, biting their fingers when they get too happy, barking at anything and everyone, and being entirely unpredictable. I personally really dislike dogs and I have never found an owner that actually keeps their dog from jumping on me.

Dogs are not inherently good and most are very dangerous.

I don’t have to be cautious with my infant around cats, but I definitely do around dogs.
