Games@lemmy.world•Horizon Hunters Gathering reportedly delays Horizon 3, as Sony prioritizes multiplayer PS5 gameEnglish
28·2 months agoThis game looks like a major flop in the making. It seems like they are trying to appeal to the Fortnite crowd with those flashy visuals and style.
Overall they are making some weird moves with Horizon, trying to expand it into a multi-genre license. This is a lot to put on a game which could have been a one-shot with a powerful story. The sequel felt kind of forced story-wise and don’t get me started about its ending.

4·2 months agoDRG never fails to impress. One of my favorite mission-based coop games of all time (along with Helldivers 2 and Vermintide 2). I’ll be dabbling into some Ossuary exploration for sure.

Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System@lemmy.ml•JellyStat ip addressEnglish
2·6 months agoYou should make Jellyfin aware of your reverse-proxy IP address or hostname:
(in my case localhostas the reverse proxy is running on the same machine). How to send the
X-Forwarded-Forheader depends on your reverse-proxy. In Caddy which I use, it does it by default.
My all time favorite co-op games are: Helldivers 2, Vermintide 2 and Deep Rock Galactic. They are very much online games tough.
For offline local co-op my picks would be: the entire Trine series, Streets of Rage 4, Earth Defense Force 5 and Renegade Ops.

Games@lemmy.world•Lords of the Fallen II - Official Announcement TrailerEnglish
5·7 months agoThe previous installment had some good bones but they took their sweet time getting it to where it needed to be after release.
Hopefully the polish they added along the way is present at release in this one.

12·7 months agoThey really fixed the coop in the first (second) game recently. Even made the invasions opt-in. It’s now a really enjoyable 2-player coop experience.
I do think 22 is indeed too young and that you should revisit this when you get to your thirties.
Your family believing you will change or mind is irrelevant. Your life and identity is still likely to evolve significantly in the next decade or so, regardless of your current marital situation and current state of mind.

Games@lemmy.world•Anthem servers shutting down January 12, 2026English
6·9 months agoThere was quite a bit of trendy EA-hate. Some of the criticisms were well deserved though. The game was plagued with severe technical issues at launch: the multiplayer was especially busted.
Also the open world map feels much too small when compared to similar games. I remember the disappoint I felt when I realized “oh this is not the first zone, this is THE zone”.
Regardless, I also played Destiny (2) ; while I have to admit it is a better product, I enjoyed Anthem more.

Games@lemmy.world•Anthem servers shutting down January 12, 2026English
27·9 months agoI’m likely in the minority here, but I really enjoyed my time with Anthem.
Since it was shitcanned months after release, there simply was not enough content to keep playing… But what was there always felt special.

Games@lemmy.world•Dispatch offers something new for superhero video games — engaging deskworkEnglish
71·9 months agoI played the demo and really liked it at first, as it started out like a Telltalle-style narrative game.
The actual dispatching gameplay loop though, I did not enjoy all that much. It becomes quickly way too frantic for me to enjoy the banter. Plus the actual thing you are looking at and interacting with is a map with glowing icons, i.e. not what I enjoy in video games.

Games@lemmy.world•What's going on with Borderlands 2? Steam is giving it for free, but the game has 23% positive recent reviews.English
81·10 months agoOn one side of the ring, greedy corps which want to profile you better than the NSA does. On the other, drama-hungry and social networks-fueled outrage culture.
That’s how an old game giveaway backfires and becomes the scandal of the day.
Oh wow, I just took a peek at its history and it does not even qualify as slop. To the blocklist it goes !
I’m going to go against the general consensus here and say you would probably be better served buying a Switch 2. The Steam Deck is awesome but it is bulkier, has less battery life, and is overall less suited for a “pick up, play 10mins and toss is back” usage.
However if you are up for some occasional tinkering, the SD is far more versatile than the Switch and could even replace your laptop depending on your use-cases.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Driving a manual: is it difficult?
7·10 months agoDriving manual is not particularly complicated, but it will require you to focus a lot of attention on it at first. Since you also have to cope with with differences in driving regulations, this will put you and your passengers more at risk than necessary.
It takes time (~tens of hours) to build the muscle memory so that it becomes natural. For a vacation in the short term, you should go ahead with your plan to rent an automatic.

Games@lemmy.world•Ori studio in crisis: No Rest For The Wicked could be their final gameEnglish
511·11 months ago
I don’t see the pattern of a review bombing in Steam reviews… Looks like a game getting released very soon in early access and failing to gain traction.
It’s sitting on my wishlist and I’m waiting for it to get to 1.0, but their update cadence has been very slow. Now they are saying their studio does not have the funds to complete the game.
I do hope they turn this around, but as a consumer I am very wary when it comes to titles in early access, and even more when the studio goes radio silent for months.
