Emulators are legal. Using a pirated copy of a game isn’t. So they take on the legal part to get to pirates. Which is extremely uncool.

All of the differences are semantics or nitpicking. Of course it has its own history - it didn’t spin off reddit. It isn’t a clone from an alternative universe. The point is - it’s a link aggregator / social media, with the very same problems reddit has. It has issues with moderation, it has issues with powertripping, with users, etc. “Getting away” from reddit, going to Lemmy and complaining about it becoming too much like reddit means OP has never realized that there aren’t any meaningful differences. The users aren’t any better. The mods / admins aren’t any better. The quality of posts isn’t any better. Federation doesn’t mean much to a regular user.

If you read some of the posts about reddit on here, you’d think reddit is some hellhole with lemmy being a perfect site.

Lemmy has always been reddit but with less people, if not even worse in the moderation aspect. You simply noticed it recently.

I’m commenting on the comment chain. The post is about banning keywords. The chain is about Lemmy droning on about the same topics without anything new to say. There is nothing about billionaires here, yet the one I responded to had to make it about that, proving the OP right, then going deeper in.

Fellow gmod player, yay. I think I have most in Warframe, Garrys Mod, CS:GO, 600 - 900hrs each. Then games like TF2, HOI 4, Payday 2, each at around 300hrs. A lot of time in Tabletop Simulator. After that a bunch of games at 200hrs, but too many to list here.

16yo car, looks like shit because of a wrap that should’ve been taken off ages ago, scratches, curbrash etc. Got people asking me to sell it to them, leaving me notes behind the wipers, even freaking couriers asking while delivering a package. I could get like $3k more than what I paid for it.

You just gotta buy a roughly sports-car-ish cult classic / a car everyone wanted but is affordable now, and keep it when people want to buy cars (i.e. after covid). Shame, cause I promised myself / the car that it dies with me, either wrapped around a tree, or in a junkyard when its engine blows / it isn’t worth it to replace the broken parts.

Nobody here noticed the tinny little fact that you seem to be a woman. One that works out and attracts attention (i.e. your story about a dude eyeing you in the park). The coworker might simply find you attractive.
