I have a bunch of shit going down at work and it’s getting to me
The last fast food trend I took part in with friends was the grimace shake at McDonald’s. I puked so much from such a small amount…
I have two that go hand in hand. One cannot exist without the other in my moral compass.
Acceptance and resistance.
Accept the things you truly cannot change and resist the injustices/cruelties that you can take a stand for and help to change.
Took me a hell of a long time to learn to accept certain things as absolutes, like the fact that suffering is an inherent part of life, but I have always been one to fight against things that can be changed. Not all suffering should be inherent to the human experience, though, and a lot of it can be fought against.
I thought beware of dog signs were to cover your ass if you have an aggressive dog or to just keep people off your property.
My neighbor regularly brought her granddaughter to my yard to play and visit my dogs without my consent and didn’t stop when I asked her to. I got a beware of dog sign and she got the hint. My dogs aren’t aggressive or anything. I just don’t want her to sue me if her granddaughter gets hurt on my property.
I’m fortunate enough to have really great parents. Like exceptionally great. I get legitimately really sad for others when I hear that they don’t have awesome parents. I can’t imagine going a day without talking to my mom. She and I talk every morning to make sure we both get up and get ready for the day. My stepfather and I don’t talk as often as my mom and I do, but he has been my only true father figure.
My biological father was an absolute piece of shit for most of my life, but he got his shit together and I see him as a good friend now. He and I talk almost every day, mostly about pets or work.
In a situation like this, can you take the money but still tell people anyway without getting in trouble yourself?
I thought the hamster was going to have been dead the whole time
Don’t shame notepad! Just the other day I had to alter a host file so a computer could talk to a server! That’s a very important thing and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without trusty notepad!
Hell yeah, white baby
I found myself going to my mom’s place every day for dinner for a week and taking leftovers home. Now she’s just automatically freezing portions for me. She knows my ass is BROKE
Honestlyyyy.
My biggest issue rn is credit card debt. My dog needed multiple surgeries and my car needed fixed. I have 2 maxed out cards and no interest until November. It’s only like 6k to pay off, but it’s still overwhelming because I’ve never had to deal with this type of thing before. I think I can get it all paid off before November, but it’s still a daunting task.
Rip my fun summer plans.
I did. It looks a little rough, but doesn’t seem to be complete toast. There’s also another mechanism that might be malfunctioning. I adjusted it like I was instructed to and the dripping got worse.
I’m not 100% sure what part is causing the running, so I’m just replacing everything. It’s all probably due to be replaced anyway lol
I don’t have a fixer-upper per se, but the dude who flipped my place to sell it really cut corners. I do as many repairs myself as I can. I consult the Internet, local hardware shops, and people I know who have done home repairs. I’m currently dealing with a toilet that won’t stop running unless I cut the water supply to it. I know that I need to replace all the parts in the tank, but I haven’t been able to make it to the hardware store to get the parts.
Also redneck engineering temporary fixes is totally a valid strategy. My parents put flex seal on a fucked up part of their roof and it kept the leaks at bay for 4 years. It could have lasted longer, but they got the whole thing replaced.
My screen door is broken, and I haven’t been able to replace it, so I have it tied open and held in place against my porch railing with some yarn. In bad storms, before it broke really bad, I used duck tape to keep it shut so it wouldn’t go flapping around.
Parts of my porch siding (plastic lattice) would also start blowing around in bad storms, so I used spare boards to prop everything in place until I was able to cut all the lattice down.
I’ve been here since the reddit blackout and Nicole just ignored me until now lmao
Hell yeah!
Got my first Nicole today. Made me kinda happy ngl lmao
Thank you!
