Another point in pour over vs espresso is flavor profile. You get totally different notes and zero bitterness from pour over.
The key with pour over is controlling how much water and how long it “brews” to prevent over extraction.
If you have a grinder I’d recommend getting a basic pour over and a gooseneck kettle. Electric ones are fantastic for tea, pour over coffee, moka pot coffee, french press and more.
My initial dental work was some 30 years ago so they didn’t have the nice strong resin fillings of today. Shit happens. I’ll have dentures or implants eventually.
This happened to me in the USA when I was 8-10 years old. It was a state sponsored program for low income families. They hit me with like 6 fillings I bet I didn’t need. They went to my school and parents gave permission but weren’t present so they just did what they wanted.
So now I require confirmation for all work done, x-rays and second opinions.
The fillings needed replacing over time and eventually got 5 crowns now…
Powershell is not on the list…
I am not a programmer, but a sysadmin. Don’t get to enjoy this one :-\
I sort of do this in a block comment at the top of some scripts I write.
Changelog for Completed Stuff and Future Features for todo
In sandbox games you can use signs to make a todo list.
Valheim: signs posted next to bed (spawn)
Correct. Couldn’t see it at first. Just thought it was a pause for dramatic effect. Felt fine as a clone.
With any luck it would be Alien archeologists that want to observe the rare primitivities and not intervene.
The prime directive.
What if they need water?
Drain our oceans and fuck up our ecosystems and weather balance.
The ocean is earths heatsink. Imagen extreme temperature changes across the planet. All life as we know it could end.
For fun I asked AI…
what are the consequenses of aliens stealing half of our ocean water?
Oh, what a fascinating (and somewhat alarming) scenario! Let’s imagine it, shall we?
Ecological Impact:
Marine Life: If half of our ocean water vanished, marine ecosystems would be devastated. Many species of fish, coral, and other marine life would struggle to survive in the drastically altered environment. The reduction in available water would likely cause mass extinctions.
Weather Patterns: The oceans play a crucial role in regulating Earth’s climate. With significantly less water, we would see dramatic changes in weather patterns. Areas that depend on the ocean for moisture might experience severe droughts, while others could face unpredictable storms.
Human Impact:
Food Supply: Many communities around the world rely on the ocean for their primary food source. The loss of half the ocean would lead to a sharp decline in fish and other seafood, causing food shortages and affecting the global food supply chain.
Economic Impact: Industries such as fishing, tourism, and shipping would face catastrophic losses. Coastal communities that depend on these industries would suffer economically.
Environmental Impact:
Sea Level: If aliens took half of the ocean water away, sea levels would drop drastically. While this might seem like a good thing for areas currently threatened by rising sea levels, it would expose vast areas of the seabed, creating new environmental challenges.
Temperature Regulation: Oceans act as a giant heat sink, absorbing and distributing heat around the planet. Without this balance, we could see more extreme temperature fluctuations and accelerated climate change.
Global Panic:
Geopolitical Tensions: Countries might blame one another for not preventing the alien intervention, leading to international conflicts.
Technological and Scientific Response: There would be a global race to develop technologies to either recover the lost water or adapt to the new reality.
In summary, if aliens stole half of our ocean water, the consequences would be catastrophic, impacting every aspect of life on Earth. Now, let’s hope this remains in the realm of science fiction! 😊 What sparked your curiosity about this scenario?
Not really. Once they join the federation there’s sex past the red tape.
Not enough market share yet…
That’s something I’d want to take to the dean… But then the prof would just use each book ONCE as a workaround.
So I checked and you seem like a real person… Haven’t had my coffee yet. No idea what your comment means.
They found that after the 9/11 attacks suppression of memories is a valid coping path.
Works for me with some childhood trauma. Surfaced in my teens. Buried it again with no therapy because “men don’t have feelings”.
Its like a bad mostly healed scab. I know its there. I just don’t pick at it. Nearly completely forgot about it until your comment.
I think it’s healthy to argue. Just don’t go to sleep angry or let it fester. It’s when you start arguing about one thing and end up on another topic when you gotta watch out.
Why did you switch topics? Why didn’t you tell me X thing was bothering you?
You married a man. /s
In all seriousness. I have a happy marriage. We’re awesome at communication and never argue. But things get indescivie during take out. It just happens.
I gave up playing this game.
“You hungry? ‘Yes.’ OK I’m craving burgers from X place I’m ordering two burgers in 30 minutes unless you tell me you want something else.”
So far it’s working well. Either she orders from where I want or somewhere close by.
‘I’m feeling Chinese.’ Baby you can get whatever you want. I’ll hit two spots or switch my order.
Accurate. I gripped my armrests and pressed my back into my seat in silent shock.
