‘The more I see of what you call civilisation, the more highly I think of what you call savagery.’
100+ game library on epic.
Still 0€ spent on epic.
The project is open source so it would keep going, at worst case people could fork it or whatever. They would just lift up one of the maintainers to take Linus’ job. I don’t know how this would apply to the Linux foundation, but I think he still would be replaceable, it’s all designed that way, because IT sector wouldn’t have all it’s eggs in one basket that might break if one guy leaves or dies.
What pisses me off the most about NAFOids is the absolute and constant pettiness.
Are they legally bound to follow any sanction list in their dealings? If so Linux foundation should consider move out of the US jurisdiction, because the santion load is just going to increase and more countries will be included.
If they are just doing this because of a political fad and partaking “the current thing” then they are just voluntarily digging their own and the linux foundation’s grave.
What the hell is an ActivityPub platform?
As if any institution, org or group that has an agenda to push doesn’t have battalions of bots guiding the discussion of forums to whichever way they want and not just fake followers and likes. As if people would need permission or would ask for it even if they had to. You just cant have any real sense of the public opinion on the internet, if there ever was such a time.
It’s all because of the US chip monopoly, if it were so they would not be so bold to hardware backdoor half of the PCs on the planet. I think as consumers we should have the right to choose if we want to have an American, EU, Chinese or Russian Backdoor in our computers, thank you very much.
Just imagine how much worse it would have been for sony with Concord in the EU if this law were reality. Flop a game, a live service game no less and then they would have to leave it in a playable state for like a couple hundred people that ever played it in the EU. I don’t know how this law would work in this case. Would they be mandated to give out the server code that people could run their own servers?
It’s really ambiguous how it would or how it would be revised work for games that are multiplayer only.
it should have been a fp2
Really looks like this game was designed by incompetent suits and marketing teams with the primary goal of turning those millions into more money. The game looked good and didn’t seem to play (totally) awfully either. It just doesn’t stand out or make anybody want to play it, like at all. It really is a another one of those AAA unfinished style over substance tech demos that masquerade as a game that got released into really saturated market at a really bad time, where the competition is usually also free.
Also something, something big capital overtaking creative process is one of the great disasters of our time.
not “misinformation, social engineering, and mass data collection platform masquerading as a social media platform”
Yeah and what do you think Russia for example sees almost every American “communiction platform” as? And it’s not as if they don’t have a reason, like every american platform that is every other major social media that isn’t tiktok is censored, controlled and swarming with bots doing narrative control and spam. It really is the height of arrogance and hypocrisy to say that TiKTok is the real pressing problem. I don’t even use TikTok, but I find it so fucking disgusting how every “freespeech freedomlover” comes out of the woodwork to demand it’s shutting it down just to enforce American social media monopoly over the world. Even if Bytedance has bent over backwards to prove that there isn’t any misconduct (of things that US based tech companies are routinely mandated to do for US gov, state department and the intelligence services), because it’s only bad if somebody else does the excact same thing to us as we would have done to them.
Is tiktok ok?
Why does forbes care about Mobas dickfighting?
Nice and fun, took me like 5 mins to finish tough.
it’s not like human brain memory or consciousness is that information dense. They just did that high of a definition of a scan.
Musk-, tesla- X- and SpaceX bashing are all equally obnoxious. I’m so tired of seeing why circlejerking about how twitter sucks and reading all the articles with comments about why Tesla stock is crashing, twitter is dying and people celbrating how it’s great that some supposedly misfortune fell of Musk because of his hubris. Reverse fanboyism is as annoying as actual fanboyism for all the same reasons. To me anti musk crowd is now the more annoying one who became the thing they were opposing. So yes please shut up about Musk and ban everything concerning him for all I care.
The only significant “China risk” for European companies is future western sanctions on China, not anything China will do. Washington will one day come up with an another “stop China” plan for whatever reason. Brussels will follow it without question or thought about negative effects on Europe, just because it’s given in Brussels that EU will follow US wherever it goes. EU has no ability or even the will to do otherwise or really stand against the US for European economic self interest.
Chinese market and manufacturing is not something European companies they can do without anyway. Especially after the current sanction war, the economic necessity for trade with China has only increased, but so has European reliance on the US. European companies just have to go for it and pray that Washington will not fuck them over (they will).
