I’d imagine lower power laptop? Though I’m using KDE on a laptop from 2012 and it works fine
This person had been taught the process multiple times before and simply refused to do it. It became relying on me to do the job for him in when my job is to help everyone on this large team with more advanced things then that.
“I should be able to ask my team for help” - The guy asking me to do his job for him after the umpteenth time of him refusing to learn a basic process.
1, I have one of them branded from my prior work, it’s an excellent pencil.
I followed this https://trash-guides.info/
Helped a ton, go with atomic move if all possible
True, I love not having to open ports anymore, game changing.
I went with ZFS but had some issue where it would randomly disconnect completely and lock up the whole server until I rebooted. Probably something with the nvme I was using but I went back to ext4 and that resolved it.
Anyway my media drives are an lvmthin pool and just mounted to my LXC running jellyfin and such.
That doesn’t count as a firewall though no? I use traefik as my reverse proxy (and like one thing on nginx that also goes through traefik ultimately) but I still put crowdsec on top
Idk, that was before my time and it just seems common sense to me to not litter 🤷♂️ the trash doesn’t just disappear and it will become someone else’s problem.
It feels to me a lot of people don’t care if it becomes someone else’s problem and that mentality goes through all parts of their lives.
They’re called communities here BTW, that’s why the Url is /c/
I use my previous desktop and a rando openbox thinclient I picked up at Bestbuy for like $250 in a proxmox cluster. The desktop does the heavy lifting on stuff like jellyfin transcoding, immich ML, or just general fucking about with things that require a more powerful GPU (got a 3080ti in there)
The thinclient handles all the lighter stuff that needs to be constantly available, like my traefik instance, dns/dhcp server, etc
Cloudflares test site is more informative btw
It sucks that niche things like that haven’t picked up yet, however be the change you want to see, create a community and invite like minded people to post there.
I think the biggest barrier of entry is that people don’t understand it, and they’re not going to until they try in all honesty.
There’s absolutely diversity of opinion, I see trans and Tankie arguments pretty frequently.
What is generally true is the majority of Lemmy users seem to lean left and are generally more techy, makes sense given the main reasons why you’d seek out the fediverse vs a centralized social media.
I use qbittorent through Mullvad using Gluetun as qbt is running in docker.
DHT and PEX don’t seem to work though, I did brief research and it seemed related to mullvad no longer allowing port forwarding? I don’t know enough about how it works but I tried messing with it for several hours a couple days ago to no avail, only trackers appear to work for connecting to other peers.
On a headless Ubuntu LXC running in proxmox, I just access the qbt interface via its Web portal.
More blue then green, my fav color teal :)
A lot of people use girl and woman interchangeably without meaning it to be demeaning at all.
Ha, at the company I work for they are very fast to turn off access, you could tell someone is gone just by looking at their status
