It’s worse than that. They’re praying very sincerely to be successful in taking any money and assistance away from poor people, children, and the elderly, and transferring it to the already wealthy. And of course prayer granted. I’m just so sad that the only hell that exists is the one they’ve created on earth, and it’s the one they make for everyone but themselves to live in.

But celebrate what? The opening of our concentration camps and the country’s fall to the stupidest dictator imaginable? I suppose we could drink to the ashes…

It’s the zeitgeist right now. The world is falling to dystopia and it’s top of our minds in our communal ride down. But yeah, def nice to be able to disengage /engage with non-dystopia as needed to not go crazy.

What did you switch to?

I work for a consulting firm, so a project is whatever our client has contracted us to do, for the objectives and timeline we’ve agreed to in the contract. We do workforce readiness, largely. So the client might be adopting a new software and wants us to create the employee training on it.

We contract with them for training to help their leaders deliver workshops, maybe some e-learning modules and assessments, and to have it done in a certain number of weeks. That’s an example of a project, and typically we’ll have a small team on the deliverables for it: the modules and the workshops. Meetings are to check in on progress, fix any issues, meet with the client or their subject matter experts. So that’s my office job, though luckily it’s been remote for me since covid.

We obviously didn’t deserve the good one.

And what exactly was your basement dweller best option? Because I sure did vote Harris. She was the best option. I wasn’t going to not vote, I wasn’t going to vote Russia which precluded Stein and Trump, and I certainly wasn’t going to doom three countries with a Trump vote. There were no good or perfect options. I went with the best of them.
