  • It’s a dopamine versus serotonin issue. People think they want to be happy, but that longing is more for purpose. Eating ice cream can make you happy, but learning to cook your own meals makes you a more component being able to provide for yourself and those around you.

Most modern luxuries are basically Skinner boxes at this point monetized in some way to keep us staring at it or consuming it.

We doom scroll at the expense of relationship building.

We door dash instead of have community gardens.

Instant gratification isn’t always and intrinsically bad, but the more the default it becomes, the less patient and competent people become.

Then you pile on decades of American exceptionalism and actively encouraging selfishness at the expense of a functioning society and the present state of things is hardly surprising.

  • In short, Kant said people should be the goal, not the means.

It’s ok to make yourself dinner.

It’s ok to make your friend dinner because you want to make them happy.

It’s not ok to make your friend dinner because you want to have sex with them.

It’s not ok to make your friend make you dinner because you don’t want to cook.

Every facet of capitalism is exploitation by design as profit is unpaid labor. However classless socialism isn’t automatically devoid of exploitation.

None of us asked to be here. I certainly don’t want to be here anymore. Placing the value of a life upon the imaginary lines it landed between, how much money it’s parents had, or the color of it’s skin are all pretty fucked up.

I agree. The bad taste is not that while not wrong per-se, it’s just reduces a complex issue into “red bad” while wholly failing to acknowledge that Democrats have been complicit in facilitating the Overton Window this far.

“Progressives” are really hard on the “REPUBLICANS DID THIS!” and never really pick up on the “and Democrats met them half way.”

This blue no matter who reduction hopes to hide liberalism is the slow road to fascism.

The problem isn’t meany racist MAGAts. It’s the entire system spending decades working overtly toward fascism with a bunch of clueless fucking rubes staring complacently.

  • I always keep in mind the first doctor to advocate washing hands after handling corpses was laughed out of medicine and died alone in an asylum ironically enough from sepsis.

To that point, the vast majority of research on nutrition is done on the presumption carbohydrates should be the foundation of our diet. Even “low” carb diet studies with have 30% of the calories coming from simple carbs. Oddly enough, the human body works much differently and much better when you don’t give it -any- sugar: https://youtu.be/cST99piL71E

I can expand, but briefly, sugar acts like a sandblaster through your heart and shreds the endothelium (the finger-things that move things in and out of the bloodstream). LDL is a repair van that drives around with cholesterol and saturated fat to repair the plaques. (HDL brings empty LDL back to the liver) The entire logic of blaming cholesterol for heart disease is like blaming bandaids for stab wounds. Doctors say eat less fat and more “healthy whole grains” (carbs) and the liver makes more cholesterol. Doctor sees cholesterol is still high because the body needs it and prescribes statins which impair production. This leads to nerve pain because it’s what literally every nerve in the body is insulated with.

The problems with cholesterol stem from it sitting in the bloodstream and glycating due to prolonged sugar exposure. Sugar staying in the bloodstream is basically ketoacidosis, so clearing sugar is a priority that results in LDL gumming up and going bad, essentially.

I can expand on this, but basically the human body needs predominantly fat with some protein and actually zero carbs.

  • There’s an ever growing chance shit like this just functions as pressure release psyops because it makes people feel accomplished while doing fuck all as everyone buys more the day before or the day after.

What people -don’t want to- understand is that for it to hurt the corporations, it’s got to hurt all of us. Either we give up things entirely like streaming and luxury goods or we do a general strike that costs millions of people their jobs or prompts a fascist crackdown.

The only good ways out of this spot were decades ago. Every path forward is miles of broken glass because of how propagandized a majority of this country is. Everyone wants to blame Trump or Republicans, but Democrats have spent at least 30 years with Clinton’s 3rd way dems (gay tolerant Reaganites) pushing the Overton window right.

    http://politicalcompass.org/uselection2016

Hilary’s policy was assessed as farther right than Trump’s. Obama basically handed the Heritage Foundation everything they wanted.

These bullshit one day strikes aren’t going to save us and neither are the Democrats simply because if they were interested in preserving democracy, they wouldn’t have been slow walking us right for decades.

  • Several points.

One, look over my post history and you’ll see I’m not a fan of the Democrats because they’re marginally less bad conservatives.

Two, like I give a fuck if reality hurts their feelings, but I’m not being elitist favoring my side. Anyone falling for the false dichotomy doesn’t understand reality to the point they could form opinions that matter. Like anyone that favors term limits is automatically a gullible rube that hasn’t looked into it at all. The majority of people rely on received opinions and specious reasoning for almost everything because actual consistent coherent thought is a learned still.

Three, I’m being objective and not judgemental, hence the links. There’s hard data everyone is just fucking dumber largely due to Republican efforts to sabotage education being met half way by Democrats.

And four, look at the link about gerrymandering. They spent decades literally cheating. Capping the house at 435 in 191X also massively empowered conservatives. Then you have to look into the end of times accelerationists and evangelical dominionists… Lots of cheating, sabotaging education, and obvious racism in law enforcement ignored.

    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/fbi-white-supremacists-in-law-enforcement

Five, the term right wing comes from the French parliament that wanted to keep the monarchy in power. The founding fathers were college educated aristocracy that wouldn’t have wanted white trash voting or owning guns (federalist paper… 27… Or 29?) and yet conservatives worship them.

The entire ecosystem is full of gullible assholes in authoritarian power structures where independent thought is punished.

    They’ve always been garbage people.

  • Well the biggest problem is that the fuck does conservatism want to conserve?

Selling off parks, betraying labor, violating people’s right to self determination…

If you mean Republicans, those are open fascists.

The ones doing any amount of conservation are Democrats, but eventually one realizes nimby liberalism is just the slower road to fascism as it always bends the knee to corporate interests. We wouldn’t be here if this wasn’t true.

The “responsible adults” in the room are either spineless cowards, incompetent dupes, or malicious insider trading bad actors themselves.

Between the Business Plot and the lack of any action against cellar boxing American corporations into bankruptcy and predatory economic bubbles it becomes ever clearer the goal of the entire system is to fleece the poor masses to make the rich minority ever richer.

  • Empathy and intelligence are good proxies for political orientation.

The smarter and/or more empathic people are the more left they tend to skew.

Objectively, you sound ignorant and wholly self centered but still not self interested to the point you need other people to tell you your views because you haven’t thought about them yourself. At this point, your opinion is whatever people tell you to make it.

But if you’re not a straight white man or a tradfem you’re actively disservicing yourself by not understanding what being politically ignorant has on literally every facet of your existence from the water you drink to your validity as an autonomous individual.

Then even if you are a straight white man, racism is largely a misdirection for class warfare via wage theft, wage suppression, and inflation.

Explore this site and take the quiz if you’re curious, but also look at the history of US elections and notice how far right candidates have gone the last 2 decades.

Take note of how far RIGHT candidates portrayed as “left” are.

  • Look at the scatter plots more closely.

Every dot (pair) is one precinct reporting.

Up and down is % of the vote.

Left to right is time in order of report.

Every dot is a unique data point. There should be no link in the results between precincts, right? Everyone should just be a total of votes for Trump or Harris.

That’s exactly what was seen for the results of early voting ballots. Normal.

However, there’s an obvious bias for Trump in the other reporting that increases in an obvious, consistent trend increasingly for Trump that’s basically impossible to have organically.

Even if what you said were true, it couldn’t account for the clean trend line working toward a goal.

The more densely populated an area is, the bluer it votes. The areas with the most people and lean blue should take longer to report. The smaller the precinct , the more red it usually goes but also faster to report. However, the most Trump leaning result came in last including large blue areas.

Analysing the data raises a lot of red flags that Democrats are all Helen Keller about.
