Have you tried the mouse and keyboard mod for GoldenEye? I imagine it makes everything incredibly easy but it could be different enough to justify a playing one more time
Big fan of SBC gaming, open source engine recreations/source ports, gaming in general, alternative operating systems, and all things modding.
Trying to post and comment often in an effort to add to Lemmy’s growth.

Having to rely on reading and retaining information in manuals is a big thing that keeps me away from a lot of DOS games
I was considering playing Warframe a while back because I was a fan of Dark Sector but the reviews I saw online mentioned an incredible amount of grinding. Do you think it’s worth picking up for someone who isn’t into that kind of thing?
You don’t think they could take down one?
Why is that?
I mean the kid in the sixth movie lit someone on fire and hit someone in the head with a pool ball. I feel like there’s some competition.
Have you ever tried Morroblivion?
Stardew Valley. I was a big fan of Harvest Moon FOMT and kept hearing that I should play it and when I did was I blown away. It felt incredibly similar and 90% of the time I thought “It would be nice if this is a feature” it was
XXL pajamas. I’m a medium bordering on small so I was swimming in them.
I think I also got a video game for a console I didn’t have but the gesture was nice.
For those interested Neocities is a modern equivalent. The homepage has some featured pages linked you can browse if you are looking to kill time.
I also wouldn’t say it’s sketchy. It’s just the overall political leaning of a lot of Lemmy is relatively left leaning and having those measures in place kind of demonstrates the vibe the instance is trying to create.
The level of censorship is going to be different depending on your instance and where you are posting to. A lot of instances are managed by individuals or small teams out of passion. They can do as they please and don’t have to pander to everyone for commercial appeal like Reddit or Tumblr. If someone doesn’t like what they’re doing they can join a different instance or create their own.
Instances can defederate from each other over these differences. A lot are defederated from the instance Exploding Heads because of their alt right content for example. From what I understand you can also report content to the administrators of your instance if it goes against their rules and I think they can remove it from appearing on your instance (or block the user that posted it). This isn’t going to stop it from appearing elsewhere.
For those that want some additional details Brodie Robertson created a video on what was happening 3 weeks ago on how things were going into the lead up to this. Here’s the link. It’s 16 minutes long and kind of funny. It shows how mismanaged things were from the beginning
It’s more the need aspect you mentioned that I’m talking about. People living with what works or is good enough. I feel like it can be totally be intentional. I imagine a lot of people just sleep with a mattress on the floor because they don’t feel like a bed frame is necessary for example.
Where people draw the line is one of the things I’d find interesting if that makes sense
What would be something homey but not presentable?
I get you. I rarely have other people over. I feel like if I had to start over, like if my place burnt down, I would live more like that
Gotcha. I feel like they might have the recliner there to potentially have easy access to the counter and outlet that’s also nearby
Like the post says this isn’t my place it’s a really common meme and meme template. I’m looking for communities of people who live like this.
It’s kind of minimalist but without the stressed cleanliness and lack of all clutter
I feel like that’s 3/4 well furnished full spaces and the last quarter is people posting after getting divorced
It did help me find MaleSurvivingSpace which seems a bit more like what I was describing with people having more of just the essentials without clutter
I get you. I’ve been going through a lot of “best of” lists for various consoles and it’s tough going back and playing them because they were obviously made for a younger audience and and having never played them as a kid I don’t really feel the same pull.
The Kirby games are a big one. I’ve seen a lot of recommendations but can’t really get into them.
