We have these in restaurants in Montreal also. Same, not a fan but meh it’s not that bad.

There’s a burger bar chain around Montreal (la belle et la boeuf) that have this, purple Kool aid pickles. I’m personally not a fan but other people I know love them. Not uncommon.

I think that’s another point trying to be made by the above comment…
