I remember doing that exact thing as a child. Well, teenager, but that’s still a child. I had a driver’s license. I had money from my part time job and/or allowance. I had access to a vehicle.
If I wanted a burger, I could just go get one. I rarely did unless I was out during a mealtime, because I had good food at home and didn’t want to spend money. But that’s the same decision I make as an adult.
I find it interesting that the AI parts of the video have very little video in them. They have the original game moving along, and then they show the AI version and mostly keep it as a still. I suspect that they did this so that you can’t do a side-by-side comparison and see that the AI version doesn’t actually play as well as the original version.
Also, I’ve got to wonder about how it must feel to be an artist who worked on one of these games, and watch the thing you carefully hand-tuned to match the artistic vision of the game design be replaced by the mindless addition of wrinkles.
But getting peer pressured into an addiction by one’s mom of all people is ironic.
It’s one case where I’d argue that the most literal interpretation should apply, dictionary definition be damned. Your authority figures are not your peers.

Those are digital cables. The analog cables are things like RCA connectors, old stereo cables and wires, old VGA connectors. That sort of thing.
I have a box o’ digital cables, a box o’ analog cables, a box o’ power cords, and a box o’ power bricks.
The power cords and power bricks end up being useful once in a while.
As for the other boxes, I have never pulled anything but the most common cables, like standard USB or HDMI cables, out of there. You know, the ones that you can easily buy cheaply whenever you need them. I’ve been trying to convince myself to throw away those boxes for years.

Also, whatever few microorganisms there are won’t generally do very well because there’s not much for them to consume.
But there are some, which is why you should always use distilled water instead of tap water when it’s important to avoid microorganisms such as with nasal irrigation.

If she doesn’t eat any creature that feels pain, that doesn’t mean she’s a vegan. She might be a vegan, but that statement makes her a vegetarian by most definitions.
And he’s snuggling with pigs on pig farms. I think there are some people who would say that such actions are only possible on exploited pigs who are headed for the slaughterhouse, and therefore, because he has made himself part of the meat system, he wouldn’t be a vegan, either.
I’m not a vegan either, but I find it weird that SMBC would use that word so loosely in a strip where the definition of “vegan” is so central.
I’ve done a little bit of language studying and one thing I heard about repeatedly is that people tend to mistakenly believe in their own exceptionalism.
Like, their own native language has idioms, and they just assumed that other languages didn’t have idioms.
But we are all humans and languages are all going to exist in support of human communication. Therefore, you should assume that all languages have all major features of expression, including idioms and sarcasm.
Similarly, cultures are made from humans and to facilitate human interaction, so you should expect that things like sarcasm will exist in every culture.
Every time I get fast food, I have to spend time convincing myself that it’s normal to do this occasionally and there’s no need for self loathing or obsessing over my faults.
So, I don’t really want discounts on fast food.
I don’t know if it has a base designation, but there is a way to represent natural numbers without 0. You just use 1, and numbers are distinguished by the number of 1s. So you’d count 1 11 111 1111 11111 and so on.
