Thanks for the info! So far I’ve been enjoying those same characteristics. I spend my work day arguing with computers, so I have little patience for doing more of it when I’m off (more seriously, I carefully marshall my tech efforts outside of work as a long-term strategy against burnout). I appreciate how “out of the box” gaming (and anything else I’ve tried) works in Bazzite, and the stability has been great too. Though to be fair, def helps that it’s my first experience with Plasma which really makes the “feeling” of the OS pop, in an unfair way lol.

My new measure for intuitiveness of an interface - do half-drunk, clumsy fumblings with a mouse occasionally reveal a slick new feature I wasn’t aware of?

Feel like elaborating? I’ve been running it for a couple weeks and very happy so far. One nice little feature was how I can just scroll on top of the little sun icon in the taskbar and my monitors dim and brighten. But that’s prolly a Plasma thing more than anything else.

Auto to me (if A is Auto) sounds like it’d truncate unnecessary digits (4 or 4.0 instead of 4.0000) maybe? Whereas if F is Full then you’d get full precision?

Fair enough, definitely will not disagree with you cuz you sound way more informed. I found him (and I guess his era if I’m being honest) too overtly manufactured and obnoxious to really engage with. I do imagine bro worked his ass off, and yea must have been a confluence of factors, many of them his own personality traits and effort. Maybe what irks me is people regard him as egocentric and cocky when to me he seems the opposite, just extremely fragile and fake because he’s hyper-aware of his own shortcomings (and worse, absolutely correct about them). I guess that describes a fair portion of “egocentric” personalities anyway though, thorny and fragile.

I am normally on board with the idea of “this person made it to the top of a competitive field, he can’t be XYZ” but in this case, idk man. People absolutely become famous in the music industry while having very little to offer beyond the ability to generate hype/buzz. It’s an industry that basically exists to misrepresent people in positive ways for profit, and there’s an almost endless number of levers to pull and buttons to push to make that happen. Talent and success in that world are just not all that well correlated.

Edit: you just said you don’t even know much about him, so thanks for coming to my TED talk and I’ll now go back to being old and grumpy quietly.

To add - his episode of Hot Ones makes it absolutely clear that he’s just a bullshit-ass person, his “musical career” is a symptom more than anything.

Fun fact (eh…more like barely recollected memory, likely to be wrong to some extent) -

The tires on those big ass haul trucks are seriously dangerous as they reach end of life - a blowout on something that size is real violent. Far as I know, they’ve got a ton of instrumentation these days to keep track of conditions and remaining life, etc.

I’m fairly strict about content and usage with mine, and she plays the heck out of Roblox. I’ve played with her. This has not been my experience at all.

I’ve heard there are some SERIOUSLY dangerous people / groups on the platform, but that’s true everywhere to some extent and we haven’t had issues. I don’t think I’ve ever come across something inappropriate, in fact. What makes you say it’s a cess pool of porn and Nazi shit? Not attacking you, genuinely just want to know for my / our benefit.

I get mileage outta this one in particular too. Still sometimes get turned around and bamboozled, overall I’ve kinda learned to treat the info as more like…the Platonic ideal of a perfectly modeled store, lol. The many changes and failures and surprises just make me even more grateful that any of that info is in there and works well. Really convenient.
