I think that brings up the question of how do we go about establishing an absolute position? If everything is moving, what isn’t?
Everything being relative is a hell of a thing.

For all of y’all thinking about typing it out, the video is no longer available.
We’ll never know.
Weird part is the last announcement I can find from .world admins said those communities were going to be reinstated, but then here we are months later and they still seem busted.
This is the update post for it at least: https://lemmy.world/post/22920690
The reasoning was ‘jury nullification when this was suggested in context of murder or other violent crimes’ potentially falling under ‘advocating for violence’. They decided to clarify the rules a bit and going forward, advocating for violence is still banned, but have been directed that the policy doesn’t apply to violence that has already happened.
Can say the same about the forks in my house.
Because I stole them from those restaurants.
If you’re fighting a singular male lion on it’s own… They’re not brave without their pack and they’re way more ‘bark’ than bite. It’s just like a black bear, be as big and loud as you can. Do not ever run, this triggers an instinctual urge to chase. Alone in the face of a fight it’s not sure it can win, the Lion will want to run though. That will just buy you time, closing the gap and actually winning the fight will depend on circumstances, but you can get the upper hand in a lot of ways.
Whatever happens, be thankful you’re not fighting a Tiger.
Ecstasy of gold is this one, Metallica played this too with the San Francisco Orchestra and it was as epic as you’d imagine:

One we’re looking for today though is this one (the main theme):

Doesn’t quite have that same riff, but some of the musical themes were reused in ‘The Trio’ which finished up the movie:

Admittedly, it’s hard to find a song based on someone just writing out the sounds they think it makes and I feel like any Ennio Morricone score really should be thought of as a singular piece in harmony with the movie itself. This was one of his best, one of those movies where the dialogue could be optional, sometimes you didn’t even need to open your eyes to understand what was going on.
It is very obvious this studio does not know what they are doing and has learned little from their previous releases and from other contemporary games.
I think they’ve learned that they don’t have to care about that to be successful. We have to keep reminding ourselves that success by these studios does not have to be defined by ‘making a good game’. Starfield was a great success financially and there’s no reason they should change gears from that perspective.
Starfield has made around $700 million.
It sounds like you’re getting into the keeping it running phase.
First, going back to your previous comment, self-hosting email is difficult. It’s not hard for a small provider to end up blacklisted and you’re probably kind of just done at that point and it will feel very unfair. I get that it’s a fun set of technical challenges, but you couldn’t pay me enough to help someone self-host email.
Second, guessing, but it sounds like you may be trying to expose your services directly and doing a lot to make that work which goes against what most would recommend for hosting your own services. Big companies don’t expose their intranet like that, follow their example. Almost every guide or system is going to warn against that. If you’re going to host more than one thing, highly recommend focusing on minimizing entry points and looking into a VPN-like solution for accessing most if not all of your services. Still spend time on securing your intranet, but most of your risk is going to come from how hard it is for people to get past the front door (or doors).
We already have that, the first problem is we have like a dozen of them, a few are even well supported. The second problem is that usually the technical knowledge required to set up the systems are still lower than the technical knowledge required to keep it running.
My friend, if you don’t think that’s scummy then I think you’re a little bit too acclimated to marketing scams.
I mean shit right? Where can I get some of that tea?
It’s ethical relativism y’all!
It’s unethical because it’s gross and I personally don’t like it.
That used to be the place to get quadcopters/drones when they were first becoming a thing. That was mostly just chance though, they were temu before temu was temu.
The talk around weight loss is kinda crazy and a lot of it is dominated by pseudoscience.
However, we are pretty much positive that eating at a calorie deficit will result in weight loss in 99.9% of cases and you aren’t going to be the 0.1%. There’s a lot of anecdotal data about how eating too little will make you stop losing weight or even gain more weight because of your ‘metabolism’, but no controlled studies that show that to be a significant contributor without other causes. It’s not some magical metabolism trick, you’re just cheating on your metrics and doing less because you’re tired and cranky and have no energy because you aren’t eating right.
Saying that, eating at a massive deficit can definitely make you feel like shit and will make it hard to exercise, do not recommend. You will also likely have a part of your brain dedicated to fantasizing about food 24/7 and your libido will likely be in the trash if that matters to you. This will be very hard to maintain, and you have to remember that there’s never going to be a day where you can go back to eating like ‘normal’. Your current normal is why you need to lose weight and your goal is to eventually establish a new baseline.
Lastly, highly recommend against adding calories back due to exercise. We don’t have a lot of good data about there being any reliable indicators of actual calories burned available to the average person and you’ll find a tremendous amount of super variable answers when you find instances where people tried to actually test the estimates you see online. The time you put into exercise isn’t about weight loss, it will help, but it’s a bonus just for you because you deserve to have the body that you want.
Carnivores tend to taste like their diet which can obviously vary a lot. You’ll find a hundred different answers, but mostly it’s not great, if we had something like a ‘farm raised’ option it might at least be consistent.
They’re still out there technically, but they get jankier every year. The new UI they released… last year? put the nail in the coffin for a lot of the fancy ones, but there are still options out there to skin your Steam UI.
It’s chromium based, but it’s pretty custom at this point. Chrome extensions are still compatible, but the interface/etc will throw you a bit if you’re looking for something that’s a direct swap.
Lol, love the focus on productivity, knows how to read the room.
