I like using headphones but should I be interested in these? I’m no fan of in ear buds but I like noise cancellation and good mic quality for phone calls
That was the real question, because they were promising the Live Translation thing before.
Now there are rumours that there will be a Pro 4 next year. I think that sounds dumb, why wouldn’t people just wait? AirPods aren’t an every-year kind of thing. But there it is. And my Pro 2’s are still working good.
Finally, the Babel Fish arrived.
I’m pretty sure the Pixel Buds had live translation a number of years ago, but I like the joke nonetheless
You’re one hoopy frood
Really debating to finally upgrade from the original AirPods Pro to the AirPods Pro 3.
Unless you want the better ANC or the heart rate sensor, the Pro 2 seems pretty similar and that will likely go on sale with the new model.
Yeah, I’m aiming for the NC. I pretty much permanently wear AirPods when I’m outside because it helps against loud noises, avoids Hyperacusis and keeps Tinnitus at a minimum.
Time to wait for a sale? MSRP is hefty, otherwise great upgrade.
What about replaceable battery feature? JK these are still disposable electronics.
Only works on phone models that support Apple Intelligence.
Oh well. I’m sticking with my 15 Plus
My current earbuds are Beats Studio Buds+, and they have terrible mics for calls.
I think I am going to get the new airpods, glad they are keeping the same price.
Apple really upsold you there.
I just bought a pair of Sony WF-100XM5 earbuds because every pair of AirPods I’ve owned since 2019 has experienced the dreaded rumbling. I wonder if they fixed it with this version…
You mean that clicking? That was fixed in later APP1 generations and never occurred for me with the APP2.
I had the first and second generation AirPods Pros, and both unfortunately had this issue. I’ve read reports from others online that it also occurs on Beats earbuds. Something to do with the ANC hardware.
At any rate, I think the Sony buds are just as good in terms of sound quality and ANC. Their version of “Transparency Mode” isn’t quite as nice, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me.
If this is true, I am slightly annoyed.
I ditched my first gen pros in favour of the Sony MX6’s but miss the convenience of size.
I had brought my 1st gen with the clicking issue to Apple. Only had it on one side, but they’ve tested both and then replaced both for free. Never had any issues after that. And no issues at all with the 2nd gen. So, yeah, you might want to give AirPods Pro another chance. 😉
I have had one out of warranty replacement for clicking AirPods but didn’t want to go through it again.
Now it looks like I may be spending more money on expensive consumer electronics that I don’t really need. My wife is going to hate me.
Man, I tell you, Apple service is really great (unless I was unlucky and lucky at the same time?).
I had like 4-5 times the cracking issue and each time they changed them for free even out of warranty. The employee told me something along lines of “you have the issue and so we will replace the AirPods Pro besides, there’s a law that a company needs to give a ‘decent product’ to its costumer. Even if out of warranty”.
Personally, I think the person stretched that rule far since it was out of warranty for like a year or one and a half year already. Still thankful.
You think that offer is still available? I just recently found out about the recall and still got gen 1 clicky-AirPod Pro’s
Doesn’t look like it. Their website says:
The program covers affected AirPods Pro for 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
But you could try asking at your local Apple Store.
