Seems like a pretty reasonable place to draw the line in the sand. Most people can’t safely manage their data and communication privacy because they aren’t tech people and as much as apple’s privacy stances are mostly marketing related. Out of the box and low configuration it’s more secure and private than using a stock Google device.

Encrypted at rest data storage with ADP, encrypted messaging, zero touch VPN with safari private browsing. It’s easy to recommend Apple products to privacy conscious but not tech literate friends. Or at least it was until the pivot to bend the knee to the current administration

      • @Celestus @TORFdot0 @apple_enthusiast this is where the rubber meets the pavement so-to-speak. The insane, corrupt, bigoted, unconstitutional, fascism of the Trump regime is in the news but doesn’t confront most people directly just yet. Most haven’t really seen the effects of the CDC, NIH, or even gestapo tactics of ICE personally. But Apple Maps, from a company that, until the last decade or so, has epitomized anti-establishment, now kowtowing to the epitome of American fascism brings it home.
