I have my search and watch history off and I watch recipes and music videos. The right panel with recommendations is always filled with right-wing videos. Even if opened in an incognito tab.

It’s not the algorithm… It’s how YouTube have been prepared on purpose.

It is an algorithm that was designed in a way that promotes that kind of shit because on average it keeps people watching videos (and therefore ads). They use the data from signed in people to determine wha to shove in the face of a new user.

It’s algorithm lol. That sort of shit is what get the most click and is the most relevant to current event and where you stay, that’s why the algorithm show it to you, they’re trying their luck to get you clicking.

They may not even be trying, it’s just an inherent feature of the business model. They make money from ads. The more time people engage with the content, the more money they make. People argue more in the comments (or, in other words, engage more) when they’re angry. So by tuning everything for max revenue you get ragebait bubbling up as a natural consequence.
