I didn’t do much the last few days, as I had to go out with some family friends, though I tried playing Rocket League through the Heroic Launcher and got 20/30fps, a custom Minecraft modpack (didn’t check fps but it ran fine) and even tried setting up a Minecraft server, which I couldn’t do because my router can’t port forward without calling my provider.
For now my lust for Linux is driven by the fact that shit just works because of the lack of bloat
Keep it up. I enjoy hearing about the updates.
Use playit.gg instead of forwarding the port. You don’t need an account and it will provide you with a link that you can provide to your friends. Its very easy to set-up, just follow the following commands in the terminal and follow the on screen instructions.
I also recommend the Fabulously Optimized modpack for the best performance possible while staying vanilla. Here is how to install it.
You can set up a free server with Oracle that runs on the internet. Set up the whitelist and the firewall, and you should be able to keep it private :)
There’s a link here to help you to connect to it too
https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Compute/Tasks/connect-to-linux-instance.htm#top
There is also https://try.cloudflare.com/ also no account needed
I dont’t think that you can forward ports other than 80 with free cloudflare tunnels.
I love that modpack, tho I’m not sure whether it would work with create mod

Is something like Heroic launcher required now to play the Epic version of Rocket League? I have it on Steam and get 144FPS at 1440p, mixed settings between performance and quality.
As far as I know, if you don’t have it on Steam then yes.
The Steam build still gets all of the updates to the game… for now, so if you grabbed it on Steam before it was delisted you can continue to play through that.
I’ve had no problems using this mod for playing with friends
Tbh I’d use that but running Minecraft in the background is more resource intensive than just running a server
Yeah, I hadn’t considered leaving the server in the background. For casual sessions it behaves well if you only want to spin up a game quickly.
