Mexican lawmakers Iraís Reyes and Luis Donaldo Colosio are filing an antitrust complaint against Sony Interactive Entertainment, arguing that Sony's decision to stop producing physical PlayStation games by 2028 could be anti-competitive. They claim this move would make the PlayStation Store the sole marketplace for purchasing games, eliminating price competition and harming both consumers and retailers. The lawmakers also express concerns about digital ownership and infrastructure disparities, suggesting Sony's strategy may violate Mexico's Federal Economic Competition Law by increasing costs and restricting market access.
